Docker, a globally trusted brand in developer tooling with over 20 million monthly users and 20 billion container image pulls, is seeking a Senior Total Rewards Partner to design, manage, and enhance compensation, equity, and benefits programs for its global team.

You will leverage your broad compensation expertise and strong analytical skills to build and maintain total rewards programs, ensuring leaders make informed decisions and employees understand their benefits. Your role will involve cross-functional collaboration to create programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while aligning with Docker’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Compensation

  • Own and evolve core compensation programs, including job architecture, base pay structures, merit and promotion cycles, and market benchmarking.
  • Design and manage new hire and retention equity programs, including restricted stock unit (RSU) grant guidelines, vesting structures, and refresh strategies to support attraction and long-term retention.

Global Benefits

  • Manage and improve benefits programs across Docker’s entities in the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, and France, partnering with local brokers and vendors to ensure compliant, competitive offerings.
  • Balance local requirements and employee needs with a consistent global approach to total rewards, and help employees understand the benefits available to them.

Data, Analytics, and Business Partnership

  • Build models, dashboards, and analyses to support compensation decisions, budget planning, and market benchmarking.
  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations, helping the business understand costs, options, and trade-offs.
  • Anticipate how changes in Docker’s business and talent needs should shape total rewards programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to make informed, consistent rewards decisions.

Communication and Change Management

  • Lead communication and change planning for total rewards initiatives, involving stakeholders early and preparing managers to support their teams.
  • Create clear communications, manager talking points, and FAQs explaining changes, their impact, and why they matter.
  • Help employees and leaders understand how compensation, equity, and benefits fit into Docker’s total rewards strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on total rewards, bringing sound judgment, reliable follow-through, and a willingness to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive compensation experience, including ownership of core compensation programs.
  • Direct experience building and administering new hire and retention equity programs, including RSUs.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced modeling and the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations.
  • Experience working with compensation planning tools.
  • A track record of aligning total rewards programs with business priorities and talent strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex rewards topics clearly.
  • The ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, learn quickly, and exercise sound judgment while building trust across functions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting benefits programs in a global, multi-entity environment.
  • Experience at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Experience with benefits programs in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, or France.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or a similar certification.

Docker is a pioneering enterprise software and developer tools company that fundamentally revolutionized how modern applications are built, shipped, and deployed. Founded in 2013, the company introduced the industry-standard containerization platform, shifting the global tech landscape away from heavy, resource-intensive virtual machines. Under the hood, Docker provides a comprehensive suite of tools—including Docker Desktop, Docker Engine, and Docker Hub—that allow developers to package applications with all of their dependencies into standardized, lightweight, and highly portable executable containers. This ensures that software runs identically across any environment, effectively eliminating the infamous "it works on my machine" problem. Their primary target audience spans individual software engineers, agile DevOps teams, and massive Fortune 500 enterprises transitioning to microservices and cloud-native architectures. What sets Docker apart in the massive cloud ecosystem is its incredibly passionate, community-driven developer base and its indispensable role as the foundational building block for modern CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
