Planned Parenthood Federation of America (operating at plannedparenthood.org) is a leading nonprofit healthcare provider and advocacy organization dedicated to sexual and reproductive health services in the United States and globally. Founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger in Brooklyn, New York, the organization has evolved into a trusted provider of comprehensive sexual health care, including contraception, abortion services, cancer screenings, and sexual education. Unlike traditional healthcare models that often silo reproductive health as a niche service, Planned Parenthood integrates these offerings into a holistic, patient-centered framework, ensuring accessibility and confidentiality. Its clinics and online resources connect millions of individuals annually with evidence-based care, advocacy, and resources. This allows patients to access critical healthcare services without stigma or barriers, while also empowering communities through education and policy advocacy. With an annual revenue exceeding $2.143 billion, the organization sustains its mission through a mix of public funding, private donations, and partnerships, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of reproductive rights.
