About this role:
Mozilla’s Cloud Engineering team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to mature, maintain, and build features for our Internal Developer Infrastructure Platform. You will work on creating standardized, scalable systems for CI/CD, Observability, Kubernetes optimization, environment bootstrapping, cost optimization, and more. Supporting the Infrastructure needs of the organization and identifying new opportunities to mature the path to production in a safe, cost effective way will also be an integral part of this role.
What you’ll do:
- Support infrastructure that development teams use to own and operate their services at Mozilla.
- Guide technical decision-making and adoption of user-centric solutions.
- Create Claude skills and design agentic workflows that improve developer productivity.
- Guide team members and promote engineering standard methodologies, with a focus on usability and maintainability.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration for efficient and cohesive platform delivery.
- Write proposals and decision briefs for new policies, processes, and platform functionality.
- Create new features for the platform with a meaningful value proposition.
- Be trusted to resolve unclear but urgent tasks.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years experience in software engineering with expertise in at least one of (Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps).
- Proven technical leadership experience.
- Expertise in several of the following (ArgoCD, Grafana, K8s, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, Cloud Cost Optimization).
- Proficient in Python, JavaScript, or Go.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native technologies (GCP preferred; AWS also acceptable).
- Excellent communication skills aligning technology with user needs and organizational goals.
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity.
- Curiosity and interest in learning new things.
