Acquia is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Acquia Agent Experience. Your goal will be to enable an AI agent to do anything on our platform a person can do, within the permissions it is granted. Are you a product manager who builds with agentic tools yourself? Do you want to define how people delegate work to agents, from prompt to production, on the platform that powers the world's most ambitious websites? Then join us.
Expectations of the Role
You will work on the experience for two users at once: the person directing an agent, and the agent doing the work. You will help define how agents move from advising, to acting, to resolving issues on their own, always inside the governance a customer sets: assigned roles, human approval, a full audit trail, and one-click rollback. You will report to the VP for Acquia's AgentX and DevX and drive your part of that roadmap.
This is a builder's role. You will not only write specifications; you will use agentic coding tools to prototype the experience yourself, put it in front of engineering and stakeholders, and ship. Writing is central to the job: you connect business leaders and engineering squads, and much of that connection is the document you write and the demo you build.
Job Responsibilities
- Shape vision and strategy: Help shape the product vision for Acquia Agent Experience, and contribute to it rather than wait to receive it. Make the case for where agents create the most customer value next.
- Build, don't just brief: Use agentic coding tools to prototype flows, draft specs with your agent, and produce working demos. A running prototype settles a debate faster than a deck.
- Communicate and evangelize: Present the vision, roadmap, and value to customers, partners, and executives. Write clearly enough that a reader needs no meeting to understand you, and hold your own in the room when the meeting happens anyway.
- Develop collaboratively: Partner with other disciplines and departments to deliver features that improve the experience from prompt to production. Be the glue between teams. When a service you depend on breaks, help fix it instead of waiting for another team to get to it.
- Manage the backlog: Prioritize high-impact work, from agent governance to autonomous issue resolution, and ship it on time with measurable value.
- Write clear specifications: Develop product requirements and acceptance criteria. Direct an agent to find or draft reference docs when none exist, then work with the owning team to review and revise.
- Lead the lifecycle: Guide cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle, moving capabilities from experimental open-source and internal projects into supported Acquia AI features.
- Decide with data: Track adoption, agent action volume, and customer outcomes. Optimize for customer value, and say so plainly when a better model or more capacity would unblock that value now.
- Hold the standards: Hold the experience to Acquia's bar for security, compliance, and governance, so a customer can hand an agent real work and trust the controls around it.
Skills
- Ownership and agency: You feel accountable for the outcome and take pride in the craft of shipping it, not just the plan. You do not wait to be told, you do not stay boxed in your own scope, and you escalate blockers early rather than sit stuck. You thrive with high autonomy and treat ambiguity as the job, not an obstacle.
- Agentic fluency: You keep yourself at the front of agentic tools and practices and adopt them in your daily work. You can say what today's agents do well, where they fail, and how that changes what Acquia should build.
- Curiosity and building instinct: You are a natural builder and a curious one. You learn tools by using them on real work, and you would rather ship a rough prototype than describe one.
- Written communication: A core requirement. You turn a messy problem into a clear, structured document a reader understands without a meeting.
- Executive presence: Strong verbal communication and the ability to communicate upward. You can brief an executive, defend a decision with data, and move a room to a decision.
- Technical depth: Working knowledge of APIs, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), cloud architecture, and modern web technologies (Drupal and Kubernetes). You read code and reason about system design well enough to build alongside engineers.
- AI and automation: Hands-on with LLMs, agent design, tool and MCP integration, and the governance an agent needs to act safely on a customer's behalf: approval, audit, and rollback.
- User empathy: For both users of an agent experience: the developer or marketer directing the work, and the agent doing it.
- Stakeholder management: A track record of building and keeping relationships with customers, partners, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 4+ years in product management, with significant time in a technical or SaaS role.
- Hands-on experience building or shipping with AI agents, LLM applications, or agentic coding tools, as a builder and not only an observer.
- A track record of delivering software in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
- Proficiency with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Aha!.
- Experience in cloud computing, enterprise content management, developer tooling, or digital experience platforms (DXP).
