About PagerDuty: PagerDuty, Inc. (NYSE:PD) is the global undisputed pioneer in digital operations management, empowering enterprise business resilience and operational efficiency for nearly half of the Fortune 500 and two-thirds of the Fortune 100. The PagerDuty Operations Cloud functions as an AI-powered hub, bringing together real-time metrics, automated Workflows, and distributed engineering squads to detect, isolate, and remediate technical issues at scale. Trusted by iconic teams including Netflix, Shopify, Zoom, DoorDash, and Lululemon, PagerDuty establishes the backbone for always-on enterprise software ecosystems.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly technical, forward-thinking Senior Product Manager for our AI & Automation group to lead the strategic roadmap and execution of our next-generation agentic automation experience. In this high-visibility, load-bearing role, you will build the foundational infrastructure that enables AI-native SRE agents to act autonomously within live production environments. You will drive the product evolution for automation primitives—including Workflows, Actions, and Connectors—spanning both multi-tenant cloud SaaS and on-premises software blocks. This seat demands a product champion who thrives at the intersection of developer tooling, infrastructure observability, and frontier agentic AI product design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agentic Infrastructure Engineering: Lead product definition for PagerDuty’s automation platform layer, defining how autonomous SRE agents invoke runbooks, invoke Actions, and execute API connections.
  • Multi-Year SaaS & On-Prem Roadmap: Construct and steer the structural multi-year strategy for Workflows and Actions across cloud-delivered SaaS models and complex on-premises/hybrid deployments.
  • Trust & Authorization Modeling: Collaborate with enterprise security architects to design frictionless customer-facing permission controls, scoping boundaries, and audit logs required for autonomous AI actions.
  • Contextual AI Model Partnerships: Partner alongside internal AI/ML research groups and external model providers to ensure our agentic primitives leverage deep SRE-specific context over generic automation patterns.
  • Telemetry & Feedback Synthesis: Analyze usage trends, product telemetry patterns, and competitive market indicators to turn unstructured feedback into clear product features.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Guide multi-stakeholder initiatives from conceptual alpha states through to General Availability (GA), partnering with Engineering, UX Design, and global Go-To-Market (GTM) cells.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software product management history, with a verified track record shipping customer-facing enterprise B2B SaaS platforms at scale.
  • Deep operational fluency within the **SRE, Incident Management, or DevOps domains**—holding a comprehensive grasp of on-call rotations, runbook execution, and production infrastructure dynamics.
  • Hands-on technical background working directly with workflow automation engines, integration platforms, job schedulers, or modern infrastructure tooling.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to reason clearly about complex authorization concepts, including principals, permissions, trust delegation, and API payloads.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, optimized to distill dense technical choices cleanly for both senior engineers and C-suite executives.
  • Location Context: 100% remote-first full-time operational framework restricted to eligible states within the United States (Candidates residing in AK, HI, IA, LA, MS, NE, NM, OK, RI, SD, WV, or WY are explicitly excluded from hiring).

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience building or shipping features powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic tool tracking, or reinforcement learning loops.
  • Hands-on familiarity with on-premises or hybrid architecture patterns (such as Kubernetes operators, air-gapped network compliance, and enterprise deployment setups).
  • Background operating inside the Observability, ITSM, or automated Infrastructure-as-Code ecosystem.
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced technical systems degree.

What We Offer

  • The exceptional professional runway to architect the agentic engine that redefines how modern enterprise engineering and operations squads work.
  • Highly competitive US base salary accompanied by lucrative corporate equity allocations and a matching Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits, retirement plan options, and generous paid vacation brackets.
  • Specialized corporate wellness structures including dedicated Dutonian Wellness Days and company-wide HibernationDuty paid breaks.
  • Up to 22 weeks of paid parental leave for pregnant parents and 12 weeks for non-pregnant parents to support growing families.
  • Direct engagement in annual company-wide hack weeks, continuous development paths, and advanced mental health resources.
