Want to know if you're a match for this job?
The Senior Partner Insights Manager - EDU helps EDU Partnerships turn data into better decisions, stronger partner relationships, and improved student outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, partner strategy, and data product development.
You will independently lead analytics projects from problem definition through delivery, build trusted reporting and insights products, and partner with EDU Success, Sales, Product, Data, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Support. You will bring rigor to ambiguous questions, make complex information easy to understand, and help partners and internal teams act on what the data is telling us.
This is a strong fit for an analytical operator who is comfortable working directly with stakeholders, has sound judgment about data quality and methodology, and wants to create leverage beyond one-off reporting requests. You will have meaningful ownership and influence while working closely with leaders and cross-functional partners to shape priorities.
What You'll Do
- Own & Lead Strategy:
- Own high-impact analytics and reporting initiatives for EDU Partnerships, from identifying the business question and defining success measures through analysis, delivery, enablement, and iteration.
- Lead project planning and stakeholder communication for analytics programs, balancing impact, effort, urgency, and long-term maintainability.
- Build & Scale Data Products:
- Build and evolve internal and partner-facing data products, dashboards, reports, and narratives that help teams understand partner health, business performance, student engagement, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop scalable sources of truth and self-service resources that reduce recurring manual work and help EDU teams answer common questions with confidence.
- Analyze & Deliver Insights:
- Deliver direct-to-partner insights, including business reviews, partner reporting, benchmarking, and other analyses that demonstrate Handshake’s impact and support partner decision-making.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches, metrics, definitions, and recommendations; identify limitations in the data and communicate them clearly.
- Use SQL and modern data and BI tools to investigate questions, validate results, develop reusable reporting, and improve the accessibility and trustworthiness of insights.
- Partner & Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
- Partner with Product and R&D on Handshake’s embedded analytics experience, incorporating feedback from EDU Success, Support, and partners into reporting priorities and user experiences.
- Work cross-functionally to align on definitions, resolve data issues, identify dependencies, and improve the processes behind reporting and partner analytics.
- Communicate & Enable:
- Present findings and recommendations to audiences ranging from individual contributors and partner-facing teams to senior leaders, tailoring the story to the decision at hand.
- Enable adoption by documenting analytical products, creating clear guidance, and supporting training or rollout activities for internal users.
- Contribute to a collaborative, curious, and high-performing team culture.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, business operations, revenue or customer success operations, product operations, data products, or a related field.
- Strong analytical judgment: you understand what the data can and cannot tell us, can identify quality or methodology risks, and know when to investigate further.
- Experience using AI-assisted analytics or workflow tools while maintaining strong validation and analytical standards.
- Competent SQL skills and experience using BI and analytics tools to build, interpret, troubleshoot, and improve reporting. Experience with tools such as Looker, Omni, Hex, BigQuery, or Matik is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to take analytical work from discovery to delivery with limited day-to-day direction, including gathering requirements, defining methodology, managing stakeholders, and driving adoption.
- Experience building reusable dashboards, reporting frameworks, data products, or other solutions that help people make decisions at scale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex analysis into concise, compelling narratives and recommendations.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project leadership skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- A customer- and partner-centered mindset, with the ability to connect analysis to meaningful outcomes for institutions, students, and Handshake.
- High attention to detail, balanced with the ability to prioritize and make progress in a fast-moving environment.
- Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces and creating structure where processes or definitions are still evolving.
Extra Credit
- Experience working in higher education, career education, SaaS, or a related partner-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with Handshake products, EDU Partnerships, career services, student engagement, or higher education workflows.
- Experience with partner-facing analytics, executive reporting, benchmarking, or business reviews.

Handshake
View Company ProfileHandshake is the premier early talent network and university recruiting platform dedicated to democratizing career opportunities for students and recent graduates. Founded in 2014 by Garrett Lord, Ben Christensen, and Scott Ringwelski in San Francisco, the company was built on the belief that a student's career prospects should not be dictated by their zip code or the prestige of their university. Under the hood, Handshake operates a massive three-sided marketplace connecting over 1,400 higher education institutions, millions of active students, and nearly a million employers—ranging from Fortune 500 giants to local non-profits. The platform provides a centralized hub for job postings, virtual career fairs, and proactive talent sourcing, leveraging smart matching algorithms to surface relevant roles based on a student's skills and interests rather than just their pedigree. Their primary target audience includes college students entering the workforce, university career centers seeking to boost graduate outcomes, and enterprise talent acquisition teams desperate to build diverse, entry-level pipelines. What sets Handshake apart in the HR Tech space is its absolute dominance in the higher education ecosystem, effectively replacing legacy university job boards and becoming the undisputed standard for early-career recruitment.
