The Role

Lantern is the specialty care platform connecting people with the best care when they need it most. By curating a Network of Excellence comprised of top specialists across surgery, cancer care, infusions, and more, Lantern delivers high-quality care with meaningful cost savings for employers and their members. Lantern supports members with dedicated care teams throughout their care journey, ensuring access, coordination, and strong clinical outcomes nationwide.

The Network team is responsible for ensuring Lantern’s provider ecosystem remains high-performing, scalable, and aligned to member and client needs.

The Senior Manager, Network Success will lead the strategy and execution of Lantern’s territory and provider account management function. This role is responsible for driving provider engagement, retention, and growth across key markets while building operational infrastructure that supports scale. The first year will focus heavily on team development, removing operational barriers, implementing reporting cadences, and formalizing account planning and performance management processes. A core focus of this role is embedding AI and automation into team workflows to scale Network Success capacity and throughput without proportional headcount growth.

This individual will partner cross-functionally with Member Services, Claims, Clinical, and Network Strategy to ensure a consistent provider experience and to operationalize improvements that strengthen provider relationships and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provider Relationship Management and Growth
    • Serve as executive sponsor for Lantern’s largest and most strategic provider groups, building durable and trusted relationships.
    • Align Lantern’s capabilities with provider goals, advocating internally to address needs, remove friction, and enhance partnership value.
    • Drive revenue and network performance through proactive engagement, retention strategies, and identification of expansion opportunities.
    • Lead renewal and retention efforts for high-value provider accounts, mitigating churn risk and strengthening long-term alignment.
  • Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence
    • Define team strategy, priorities, and operating rhythms to achieve growth, engagement, and retention targets.
    • Partner with VP, Network Success to enforce and improve scalable account planning frameworks, reporting cadences, and performance management systems.
    • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and service quality.
    • Establish data-driven visibility into team performance, provider health, and network outcomes.
    • Identify, pilot, and scale AI-enabled tools and automation across core Network Success workflows (e.g., credentialing, settlement reconciliation, SCA drafting, escalation triage) to increase team capacity without proportional headcount growth.
    • Partner with Analytics and Product/Engineering to surface high-leverage AI use cases and translate successful pilots into repeatable, documented processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Member Services, Claims, Clinical, and Product teams to align workflows and ensure consistent provider experiences.
    • Define escalation pathways, roles, and handoffs across functions to improve execution and responsiveness.
    • Advocate for system and process enhancements that improve provider engagement and operational effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network and territory managers responsible for provider relationships.
    • Build a high-performance, collaborative culture centered on accountability, execution, and provider success.
    • Provide structured coaching, training, and development plans to strengthen team capability and impact.
    • Build team fluency with AI and automation tools, ensuring Provider Success Managers and Associates can adopt new AI-enabled workflows quickly and confidently.

Lantern (operating at lanterncare.com) is a specialty care platform engineered for employers and labor funds seeking to streamline access to high-cost, high-stakes medical services. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Dallas, TX, Lantern tackles a critical inefficiency in healthcare: the fragmented, often costly delivery of complex treatments like surgery, cancer care, and infusion therapy—areas that account for 50% of total healthcare spending. Under the hood, Lantern acts as a curated network of top-tier providers, leveraging data-driven matching to connect patients with the most appropriate specialists and facilities while negotiating favorable pricing. This allows employers to deliver excellent care with significant cost savings—up to 55% lower than average—while improving outcomes for employees. Backed by a $30 million strategic investment from Morgan Health and Echo Health Ventures, Lantern positions itself as a leader in transforming how specialty care is accessed and financed.
