About XBOW
XBOW is building the future of offensive security. Our AI-powered platform autonomously discovers, validates, and exploits vulnerabilities, helping organizations find and fix security weaknesses before attackers can take advantage of them. We’re a team of builders, researchers, and security experts tackling complex problems at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.
As we grow, we’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to help us build strong commercial relationships and bring our technology to more organizations worldwide.
Your Role: Senior Legal Counsel-Commercial
You’ll own commercial legal work across XBOW, helping teams structure agreements, close deals, and make informed decisions as the business scales. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Security, you’ll turn complex legal questions into clear, practical advice.
This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded lawyer who brings 7+ years of commercial legal experience, including in-house experience in technology, experience working in a startup, and direct experience advising on AI products or services. You should be comfortable leading negotiations independently, navigating uncertainty, and building processes that help a growing business move quickly.
Responsibilities
Lead commercial negotiations. Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise customer agreements, SaaS and software licences, proof-of-concept agreements, partnership and reseller arrangements, procurement contracts, and data processing agreements.
Partner with the business. Work closely with Sales and Finance on deal structure, negotiation strategy, and escalations, finding practical solutions that support revenue growth and manage risk.
Advise on AI-related commercial issues. Address data use, model training restrictions, intellectual property ownership, confidentiality, warranties, liability, and third-party AI provider terms.
Support product development and launches. Help Product, Engineering, and Security teams assess legal considerations for new capabilities and translate them into appropriate customer terms and commitments.
Address the specifics of offensive security. Help define contractual testing permissions, scope, acceptable use, and the handling of vulnerability findings and sensitive customer information.
Build processes that scale. Develop templates, negotiation playbooks, approval workflows, and guidance that improve contract turnaround and consistency.
Make legal advice accessible. Deliver practical training and help colleagues understand when they can move independently and when to involve Legal.
Support broader legal priorities. Identify emerging issues, coordinate specialist external advice where needed, and contribute to projects as the business evolves.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
7+ years of commercial legal experience, with substantial responsibility for drafting and negotiating complex technology agreements.
Prior in-house legal experience at a technology company, supporting commercial teams and working directly with product and technical stakeholders.
Experience working within a startup, with an understanding of how to prioritize, operate with limited resources, and build processes as the company grows.
Direct legal experience advising on AI products or services, including related commercial terms, data rights, intellectual property, and risk allocation.
A qualified lawyer admitted to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
A strong track record of independently leading enterprise commercial negotiations from initial review through signature.
Sound commercial judgment, with the ability to explain trade-offs clearly and recommend a way forward.
Working knowledge of privacy, data protection, and information security issues relevant to technology contracts.
Clear communication, strong ownership, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Curiosity about the technology you support and a willingness to work through unfamiliar questions.
Advantageous
Experience in cybersecurity, offensive security, or developer tools.
Experience negotiating international enterprise transactions.
Experience building a commercial legal function or improving contract management systems.
Experience using AI tools thoughtfully to improve legal workflows.
What we offer
Compensation & Equity: Competitive salary and a generous equity package, making you a true owner of the company.

XBOW is a trailblazing cybersecurity company that has engineered the world’s first fully autonomous offensive security platform. Operating as a remote-first, globally distributed team, the company recently secured a massive $120M Series C funding round to scale its "autonomous hacker." Under the hood, XBOW utilizes advanced, agentic AI to execute targeted, machine-scale penetration tests that explore deep attack paths far faster than humanly possible. Unlike traditional vulnerability scanners that generate massive amounts of theoretical noise and false positives, XBOW independently validates every single potential finding through actual, real-world exploitation—providing security teams with reproducible proof of breach risk. Their technology has been rigorously validated on top industry bug bounty programs like HackerOne, proving its ability to uncover highly complex, original vulnerabilities in production-grade applications. Their primary target audience spans enterprise security teams, DevSecOps professionals, and CISOs who are struggling to keep pace with AI-native software development and the around-the-clock threat of AI-enabled attackers. What sets XBOW apart in the Infosec market is its ability to deliver the depth and results of a premium, manual pentesting engagement in a fraction of the time, allowing human experts to focus purely on high-level judgment and remediation rather than manual discovery.
