Keycard is building identity and access infrastructure for the agent-native era, where software is dynamic and AI agents complete tasks autonomously. Their mission is to empower developers and enterprises with secure, scalable foundations to build, deploy, and trust agentic applications.

The Role

  • Own technical wins end-to-end, from discovery and demos to architecture, evaluation, security review, and rollout.
  • Translate complex concepts like identity, policy, delegation, and audit into clear customer outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Integrate Keycard into intricate ecosystems involving identity, cloud, policy, SIEM, API, and agent systems.
  • Design and lead high-stakes workshops, pilots, and executive technical narratives.
  • Prototype integrations and unblock teams from evaluation to production.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to address gaps, patterns, integrations, and enterprise readiness.
  • Convert first-of-kind customer work into reusable demo assets, technical content, and reference architectures.

Requirements

  • Customer-facing technical expertise with the ability to engage effectively in discussions with staff engineers and CISOs.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, SDKs, OAuth/OIDC, cloud systems, and modern developer workflows, with fluency in identity or security architecture, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience navigating enterprise security reviews, proofs of value, and complex integrations.
  • A builder’s mindset: ability to debug, prototype, teach, and simplify on the fly, transitioning seamlessly from whiteboard to code to executive conversations.
  • Calm judgment, intellectual honesty, excellent communication, and clear ownership from discovery through technical win.

Preferred Skills

Hands-on depth with IAM, authorization, token exchange, policy engines, workload identity, MCP, agent tooling, or security architecture.

Benefits

  • Build at the Frontier: Work on cutting-edge agent-native systems, with autonomy to innovate and master new technologies.
  • Agent-Native Culture: Shape an organization that embeds AI into its foundation for enduring competitive advantage.
  • Compensation: Market-competitive salaries and generous equity packages (4-year vest, 1-year cliff).
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision, paramedical coverage, 4 weeks vacation, 11 statutory holidays, and 1 volunteer day annually.
  • Tools: New MacBook Pro, $500 stipend for peripherals, and access to the best AI tools available.
  • Remote-First: Flexible, remote-first work environment with asynchronous collaboration.

Keycard is focused on building the foundational unlock for next-generation software, enabling secure and trusted agentic applications. By joining as an early employee, you will help shape a culture of iterative craftsmanship, disciplined design, empowerment, and high-quality delivery with real impact. Collaborate with founders and investors who have championed identity, security, and developer tools from seed to scale.

If you are passionate about tackling complex distributed systems and advancing both developer productivity and security posture, with a hunger to learn, have an impact, and move quickly with determination, Keycard would love to explore how you can help shape the future of software.

Keycard (operating at keycard.ai) is an AI agent security platform engineered for enterprise-grade identity and access management. Founded in 2025 by Ian Livingstone, Jared Hanson, and Matthew Creager, Keycard specializes in dynamically managing credentials for AI agents, addressing the growing complexity of AI-driven workflows. Under the hood, the platform leverages ephemeral, task-scoped credentials with edge-based enforcement and federated identity protocols, ensuring granular control over agent access to tools, APIs, and data. This allows enterprises to mitigate risks like unauthorized data exposure or over-permissioned agents while maintaining audit trails for compliance. Backed by a $38 million funding round, Keycard positions itself as a foundational layer for the emerging agent economy, enabling organizations to scale AI adoption securely.
