At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers.
We’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Corporate FP&A team. In this role, you’ll help coordinate company-wide planning and forecasting, with a core focus on our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and ownership of our Cash EBITDA and Free Cash Flow (FCF) models. You’ll work closely with colleagues across FP&A and the broader Finance organization to deliver clear insights, align data from multiple sources, and help leadership translate business performance into profitability and cash.
What You’ll Do:
Build and maintain the Cash EBITDA and FCF models, delivering monthly actuals, forecasts, variance analyses, and cash bridges with a high level of accuracy, consistency, and transparency.
Coordinate the Annual Operating Plan and forecast cycles, consolidating financial plans, pressure-testing assumptions, and preparing company-level financial outputs.
Connect the P&L, Cash EBITDA, FCF, and cash flow forecasts so leadership can clearly see how operating performance translates into cash generation.
Partner with FP&A teams and cross-functional business partners to analyze revenue, operating expenses, headcount, working capital, and other key drivers of company performance.
Reconcile results with Accounting and other Finance teams to ensure management reporting aligns with underlying financial data.
Produce monthly and quarterly reporting (actuals vs. forecast/plan) with actionable insights on key movements and drivers.
Prepare financial analysis, presentations, and supporting materials for senior Finance and company leadership.
Simplify and automate FP&A models and processes to reduce manual work and accelerate delivery of financial insights.
What You Need to Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
3-5 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience (preferably at a SaaS or technology company)
Advanced financial modeling skills, with hands-on experience building and maintaining detailed models in Excel or Google Sheets
Strong grasp of the income statement and cash flow statement, with understanding of how operating performance and working capital impact cash
Ability to analyze large volumes of financial data, identify key drivers, and communicate results in a clear business narrative
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial results and variances to both Finance and non-Finance audiences
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating across Finance and the broader organization
