GameChanger is a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, dedicated to solving challenges in youth sports. We believe in the transformative impact of sports on youth development, fostering leadership, teamwork, and confidence.

The Position:

Our Basketball engineering organization is building and scaling products to help GameChanger grow in the most-played youth sport in the country. The Coverage team owns the core experience of getting every game onto the platform, including scorekeeping, live video capture, and coaching tools built on top of that data.

As a Senior Engineering Manager on this team, you will:

  • Lead a cross-functional group of engineers working across iOS, Android, and backend platforms, partnering closely with Product and Design to ensure covering a game is fast, reliable, and low-friction.

What You'll Do:

  • Coach and develop engineers, setting clear expectations and fostering growth through consistent feedback.
  • Define clear delivery goals, partner with cross-functional teams to shape priorities, navigate trade-offs, and surface risks.
  • Set and hold a consistent bar for engineering craft and system reliability, especially around live, in-game workflows where failures are highly visible.
  • Hire and onboard strong engineers, maintaining high standards for values alignment, skill fit, and AI fluency.
  • Contribute to engineering culture and organizational effectiveness through cross-team initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • Possess 4+ years leading engineering teams and 6+ years of software development experience, with a track record of managing and growing engineering talent.
  • Have technical depth in one or more areas of our stack, with enough breadth to engage in architecture conversations and maintain trust among senior engineers.
  • Possess good product instincts, build strong relationships with Product and Design partners, and align on priorities effectively.
  • Be active in developing AI fluency and helping your team do the same, holding a high bar for judgment and ownership.
