About Mattel: Mattel is a premier, internationally recognized toy and family entertainment giant, global franchise accelerator, and digital supply chain innovator operating on an absolute mission to protect, automate, and expand how the world explores the wonder of childhood and reaches its full potential. Managing one of the most legendary corporate brand portfolios in human history—encompassing Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, American Girl, Thomas & Friends, UNO, Masters of the Universe, Matchbox, Monster High, MEGA, and Polly Pocket—Mattel securely designs and delivers physical, digital, and content-driven experiences in collaboration with the world’s leading retail and e-commerce companies. Founded in 1945, Mattel’s award-winning workplace culture has been honored by Forbes, Fast Company, Newsweek, Great Place to Work, and TIME. Driven by a performance-focused corporate philosophy that values seamless collaboration, bold innovation, and uncompromised excellence, the firm provides high-agency data integration professionals with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage state-of-the-art EDI translation models, manipulate deep ERP mainframes, and deploy robust B2B transaction architectures safely across Hyderabad, India.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and systems-minded Senior Engineer EDI Onboarding Resource to join our core centralized Mattel Global Business Services unit in a full-time remote capacity across Hyderabad, India. Operating as the primary technical owner and governance lead across our global partner integration pipelines, you will step up to claim true individual strategic and operational accountability for designing, maintaining, and certifying Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) maps with enterprise retail clients and international logistics suppliers. Shifting completely away from routine local script editing, basic back-office data entry typing, or superficial ticket tracking loops, you will run an active B2B integration laboratory—partnering in lockstep with OpenText engineering cells, external trading analysts, and our internal Global EDI Delivery Manager. This position requires an enterprise tech or logistics software veteran with 5 to 8 years of craft depth who architectures complex decoupled system endpoints fluidly natively using Backend code logic, structures high-volume electronic data exchanges smoothly natively using Shopify or custom enterprise transactional APIs, and commands rigid character encoding configurations and compliance testing safely under strict product rollout milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Lifecycle B2B Integration Architecture: Drive, architect, and govern the technical lifecycle of multi-tenant Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations with worldwide trading networks, following structural design rules cleanly natively utilizing Backend methodologies.
  • Multi-Standard Document Synthesis: Build, review, and maintain high-fidelity EDI mapping files across various structural iterations, demonstrating deep proficiency with EDIFACT (ORDERS, ORDCHG, DESADV, INVOICE), ANSI X12 configurations (850, 855, 860, 856, 810), and TRADACOMS standards.
  • iSeries Mainframe Data Syncing: Create, configure, and maintain EDI Partner Setup Profiles securely on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) ERP backend database, executing reliable APRF and SNRF file extraction and uploading metrics.
  • Decoupled Protocol Governance: Establish and supervise secure B2B data transmission networks, configuring AS2 servers, X.400 brokers, FTP/SFTP connections, cryptographic encryption certificates, and data integrity parameters cleanly inside UNIX and iSeries terminal environments natively leveraging Backend rules.
  • External Platform Integration Sourcing: Manage service delivery and supervise technical workflow mappings provided by external B2B platforms, collaborating hand-in-hand with OpenText (GXS) service providers to execute transformation schemas in UTF-8 formats.
  • End-to-End Partner Onboarding Projects: Head complex client integration projects, directing trading partner coordination, rigorous technical requirements gathering, testing strategy formulations, and post-production stabilization.
  • Multi-Tier Data Layer Triage: Monitor system telemetry daily, proactively troubleshooting complex mapping failures, parsing data gaps, or interface latency blockages across application layers independently before code escalation.
  • Junior Developer Mentoring and Guild Leadership: Serve as the principal technical escalation anchor, authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs) and providing proactive direction and mentoring to junior engineering assets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of verified professional history running advanced EDI mapping development, B2B product integration architecture, global electronic data consulting, or supply chain technology engineering.
  • Mandatory Protocol and Matrix Mastery: Documented career history demonstrating deep expertise interpreting trading partner specifications, writing custom data schemas, and structuring data envelopes, segment separators, control qualifiers, and functional acknowledgements globally.
  • Expert-tier capability coding conditional validation logic, handling transformation scripts, and organizing server architecture layers natively utilizing Backend technologies.
  • Practical operational familiarity connecting dynamic electronic transaction feeds with automated e-commerce web pipes natively using Shopify or custom transactional APIs.
  • Proven technical fluency managing high-volume batch processing pipelines, flat-file ingestion arrays, and char-set transformations (specifically handling UTF-8 data logic).
  • Outstanding written and spoken verbal communication attributes in business-fluent English to coordinate requirements fluidly with international vendors and cross-regional stakeholders alike.
  • Location Context: Position open to qualified EDI software engineers located near the Gowra Palladium office hub or based anywhere within **Hyderabad, India** under a flexible remote work-from-home model.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior commercial backend engineering history operating explicitly brand-side or vendor-side for an international consumer goods enterprise, retail logistics clearinghouse, or global e-commerce supply chain platform.
  • Direct hands-on experience compiling XML schema definitions or configuring automated visual tracking dashboards to optimize partner fulfillment windows.
  • An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in high systems thinking, a detail-oriented execution profile, and an intense passion for building automated data frameworks that help millions explore the wonder of childhood.

What We Offer

  • Vetted Global Toy Tech Salaried Blueprint: A competitive full-time baseline annual regional salary package calibrated precisely to evaluate your EDI authority, iSeries craftsmanship, and partner onboarding velocity, supplemented by comprehensive corporate benefits tracks.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to claim absolute execution ownership over the backend B2B integration networks power-routing retail transactions for a multi-billion dollar entertainment icon.
  • Profound work-from-home remote options offering a flexible hybrid or 100% remote layout within Hyderabad, complete data-tracking trust, and zero mandatory physical daily office commuting friction.
  • Access to enterprise-grade IBM mainframes, advanced cloud mapping tools, and an internationally acclaimed workforce family certified by Great Place to Work and Forbes.
