ERG is a research and consulting firm specializing in multidisciplinary expertise for federal, state, and commercial clients. They seek a Senior Engineer with 20+ years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD)/U.S. Navy energetics facility design, construction, and renovation projects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee engineering teams for facility renovation projects in energetics manufacturing, processing, testing, storage, and explosives ordnance facilities.
  • Provide technical oversight of designs for energetics production, including process equipment, utilities, material flow, and facility interfaces.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection, civil, and process-related) for energetics operations.
  • Ensure facilities meet safety and regulatory requirements, including hazardous materials, fire/explosion hazards, ventilation, containment, and separation.
  • Develop and review design packages for new construction, modifications, process improvements, and renovations.
  • Ensure designs comply with DoD UFC, NAVSEA Instructions, and relevant codes/standards.
  • Review submittals for DoD, U.S. Navy, and ERG quality-control compliance.
  • Assess designs for constructability, maintainability, safety, and compatibility with existing operations.
  • Resolve technical issues with clients, engineers, safety professionals, and construction teams.
  • Fulfill client expectations for quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Conduct site visits, facility assessments, and technical meetings at DoD/U.S. Navy facilities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline required.
  • 20+ years of experience in DoD/U.S. Navy facility engineering, renovation, and commissioning.
  • Deep understanding of energetics/explosives safety, including fire/explosion hazards, hazardous materials, and facility separation.
  • Expertise in DoD/NAVSEA criteria for explosives and energetics facilities.
  • Experience with design-bid-build projects, building codes, and permitting.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection, and civil engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and integrate manufacturing/process requirements.
  • Secret-level security clearance (or ability to obtain) and U.S. citizenship required.
