Senior Developer – Drupal

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer – Drupal with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, customizing, and maintaining robust Drupal-based web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Drupal development, a solid understanding of web technologies, and the ability to independently handle complex development requirements. You will work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, customize, and maintain Drupal websites and web applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Develop custom Drupal modules, themes, components, and integrations while following established coding standards and best practices.
• Configure and extend Drupal core and contributed modules to meet functional requirements.
• Work with Drupal architecture, content types, views, taxonomy, configuration management, user roles, permissions, and custom entities.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party services with Drupal applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, performance, compatibility, and production issues.
• Optimize Drupal applications for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure development follows clean, maintainable, and reusable coding practices.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and frontend developers to implement responsive and user-friendly web experiences.
• Work closely with QA teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform Drupal upgrades, migrations, module updates, and version compatibility assessments.
• Maintain technical documentation related to architecture, development processes, integrations, and deployment procedures.
• Support deployment activities across development, staging, and production environments.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing applications, development processes, and system performance.

Must-Have Skills

• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Drupal development, preferably across multiple Drupal versions.
• Strong understanding of Drupal architecture, modules, themes, configuration, entities, views, taxonomy, and content management.
• Experience developing custom Drupal modules and themes.
• Proficiency in PHP and strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web development practices.
• Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of MySQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.
• Good understanding of Drupal security, performance optimization, caching, and debugging.
• Experience with Drupal migration, upgrades, and deployment processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Drupal 9/10/11 and modern Drupal development practices.
• Knowledge of Symfony and Composer.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with automated testing and PHPUnit.
• Experience working with Docker, Linux, and web servers such as Apache or Nginx.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment.
