The Role
As our Senior Contract Manager, you'll provide leadership for Acclaro's commercial contracting function, ensuring our contracting practices, governance, and risk management capabilities continue to scale alongside the business.
In this role, you'll lead complex negotiations, serve as the primary escalation point for non-standard contractual matters, and drive improvements across contracting processes, governance frameworks, and systems. You'll partner closely with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Sales, Operations, and Technology to balance commercial opportunity with sound risk management while supporting Acclaro's long-term growth objectives.
This is a highly autonomous role for an experienced contracting professional who thrives in complex environments, exercises strong judgment, and enjoys solving business challenges through practical, commercially-minded solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, review, and execution of complex customer, partner, supplier, and strategic commercial agreements.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for non-standard contractual, commercial, and risk-related matters, providing practical recommendations and driving resolution.
- Manage high-value and strategically significant agreements, balancing commercial objectives with legal, operational, financial, compliance, and business considerations.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, approval frameworks, and governance processes.
- Own the effectiveness of Acclaro's contract management practices, driving operational excellence, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) adoption, governance maturity, and continuous improvement across the contracting lifecycle.
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate contractual risks, support business decision-making, and enable growth-focused commercial outcomes.
- Establish and promote contracting standards, governance principles, and best practices that improve consistency, scalability, and risk management across the business.
- Produce and analyze reporting on contract cycle times, negotiation trends, obligations, compliance metrics, and risk exposure to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, data privacy matters, strategic partnerships, and other complex commercial projects.
- Identify opportunities to streamline negotiations, reduce legal spend, improve contracting efficiency, and strengthen overall contract governance.
- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to colleagues and business stakeholders on complex contracting matters, negotiation approaches, and commercial risk considerations.
- Collaborate across Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other business functions to deliver scalable contracting solutions that support organizational growth.
Requirements
- Have 10+ years of progressive experience in contract management, commercial contracting, legal operations, legal support, procurement contracting, or a related commercial or legal function.
- Have proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations with enterprise customers, large suppliers, or strategic business partners.
- Have successfully managed high-value, non-standard, and strategically significant agreements with minimal supervision.
- Have experience developing and implementing contracting policies, playbooks, approval frameworks, governance standards, or similar operational structures.
- Have supported international contracting activities across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
- Have experience working directly with senior leaders and providing recommendations on commercial risk, contract strategy, and negotiation approaches.
- Bring advanced drafting, negotiation, and contract interpretation skills.
- Are highly effective at balancing business objectives, operational realities, legal considerations, and risk management.
- Have experience working with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms and driving process improvements.
- Thrive in fast-moving, global environments where collaboration, adaptability, and sound judgment are essential.
Nice to Have
- Experience in professional services, localization, technology, SaaS, or other global business environments.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, technology licensing, data privacy initiatives, or other sophisticated commercial projects.
- Experience building or enhancing contract governance programs at scale.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership on business-critical commercial decisions.
- Strong analytical mindset and experience using contract data to drive operational improvements and business insights.
- Enjoy mentoring colleagues, sharing expertise, and helping elevate contracting best practices across teams.
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach aligned with a people-first culture.
