Wealthfront is looking for a Senior Content Designer to help chart the future vision of Home Lending. This role will join a tight team of very senior content and product designers. Wealthfront pioneered automated investing by offering broad access to sophisticated investing strategies at a fraction of the cost of traditional financial advisers, forming the beginning of a broader vision for how their products can serve their mission: building a financial system that favors people over institutions.

Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, a high bar for craft, and executional excellence. The ideal candidate is excited to deeply understand financial products, passionate about humanizing product experiences, untangling jargon, and creating clear, concise content. Passion and/or experience building consumer financial technology products is highly desirable.

This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product design, user research, product management, engineering, legal, and compliance to solve complex product challenges. You’ll drive content-led initiatives that are relevant, aligned with product and company strategy, and prioritized on the roadmap. The role involves understanding client behavior and crafting content that speaks to clients emotionally and rationally.

You will also partner with the creative brand team to craft brand voice and tone, bringing it to life across product experiences. Champion content that is empowering, enlightening, and authentic, adjusting tone based on the client’s journey.

You should genuinely care for the mission to build a financial system that favors people, not institutions and be a zealous advocate for client needs. This passion motivates you to proactively identify areas needing greater attention, bring solutions to address them, and mobilize others to prioritize improvements.

Design at Wealthfront

Unlike many companies where design teams focus on incremental changes, the design team at Wealthfront is expected to be innovative, creative, and strategic, as design and content are critical to realizing their vision. They are empathetic people advocates, organizing and presenting content in the most straightforward, useful, and inclusive way.

Content designers define problems, new opportunities, and solutions rooted in human psychology and behavior, as well as a sound understanding of technology and business. They collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, researchers, legal, and data scientists. In an environment that encourages innovation and embraces failure, they care more about the magnitude of success than the percentage of success.

Content design and product design are equal partners to engineering and product, each playing an important role in the executive staff that collectively make critical strategic decisions.

We’re a remote-friendly team and open to candidates in the US.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of content design experience in a consumer software company; experience in building financial technology products is a plus.

  • You have a portfolio demonstrating how clear communication can make or break a product experience, including product screens, notifications, microcopy, emails, FAQs, style guides, and patterns.

  • You are a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects across teams, navigate ambiguity, quickly tailor effective content approaches within constraints, and influence the user experience beyond just content.

  • You take a collaborative mindset, with experience working across disciplines and with multiple stakeholders (e.g., product managers, product designers, and engineers).

  • You define and execute content design strategies for your team’s products and features.

  • You understand UX design principles and best practices for mobile and web, and have an eye for detail and interest in wordsmithery.

  • You’re deeply curious and interested in fintech.

Mindset that excels at Wealthfront

  • Someone who embraces complexity, loves engaging in intellectually rigorous discussions, and critically evaluates trade-offs from both a customer and business perspective.

  • Someone who turns ambiguity into clarity and navigates the organization to drive alignment.

  • Someone who consistently thinks about the company and team first and has the resilience to work through tough situations, steps up, and leads the team.

  • Someone who goes above and beyond to make others around them successful.

  • Someone who is enterprising and demonstrates high agency, moving with urgency and coming to the table with proposals on how to improve.

  • Someone who deeply cares about learning and growing with the company.

Wealthfront (operating under wealthfront.com, legally Wealthfront Corporation) is a leading public financial technology enterprise, automated wealth management pioneer, and high-yield cash management engine engineered to optimize long-term, after-tax investment performance for digitally native, high-earning millennial and Gen Z investors. Founded in 2008 by legendary technology entrepreneurs Andy Rachleff and Dan Carroll, the firm revolutionized the consumer retail finance landscape by successfully commercializing automated index portfolio investing (commonly known as robo-advisory), systematically reducing legacy wealth management friction like high asset-management overhead, non-optimized tax burdens, and high-minimum investment boundaries. Moving far beyond traditional manual brokerages, Wealthfront natively unifies globally diversified, low-cost ETF portfolios, automated daily tax-loss harvesting, high-yield cash sweep accounts, automated direct indexing, customizable stock and cryptocurrency thematic investing, and portfolio lines of credit into a single high-availability financial cockpit. Following the historic, mutual termination of its planned $1.4 billion merger with Swiss banking giant UBS in late 2022 to preserve its operational independence, the enterprise pursued rapid standalone scale and expansion into home lending. In December 2025, the company completed a landmark initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "WLTH," raising approximately $485 million. Powered by sophisticated algorithmic rebalancing engines and strong cross-product adoption across its customer base, the public fintech powerhouse manages nearly $100 billion in total platform assets across roughly 1.5 million funded client accounts. Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Wealthfront stands as a definitive cornerstone of modern automated retail finance—replacing high-fee human brokerage networks with algorithmic execution correctness, deep tax optimization, and accessible wealth creation infrastructure.
