(NASDAQ: NICE) is a global technology powerhouse whose software products are trusted by over 25,000 businesses worldwide—including 85 of the Fortune 100 corporations—to deliver extraordinary customer experiences, fight financial crime, and ensure public safety. Every single day, NICE cloud-native systems manage more than 120 million high-concurrency customer interactions and monitor 3+ billion financial transactions. Operating as a recognized market leader with a workforce of 8,500+ professionals across 30+ countries, our Cloud Operations CXone teams set the absolute standard for enterprise scalability, advanced automation, and cloud engineering excellence.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, systems-fluent, and development-oriented Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join our global Cloud Operations CXone vertical under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across the United Kingdom. In this high-leverage infrastructure engineering seat, you will hold absolute technical ownership over designing, operating, and optimizing complex, production-grade cloud environments on AWS. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated data transcription entry logs, basic support-desk ticketing, or simple script runs, you will run an active multi-region container orchestration, distributed database replication, and high-concurrency platform observability laboratory. Partnering cross-functionally alongside software engineering, DevOps, and platform teams, you will eliminate operational toil by applying site reliability engineering (SRE) principles directly to cloud environments. This position requires an infrastructure authority with 4–5 years of hands-on cloud experience who manages network layers fluidly natively using DevOps, Python, and SQL primitives, commands complete operational intimacy with container engines and configuration tools, and operates reliably within a dedicated late-night schedule (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Governance: Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available multi-tenant AWS cloud architectures natively utilizing DevOps best practices across core services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, Lambda, and IAM).
  • Container Orchestration Instrumentation: Drive the performance and reliability of containerized workloads running on Amazon EKS and ECS, managing cluster lifecycles, node groups, CNI networking, and horizontal autoscaling.
  • Linux Engineering & Server Hardening: Guarantee the stability, kernel tuning, and efficiency of production Linux nodes (RHEL, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux) by executing advanced process management and network diagnostics natively leveraging Python and Bash.
  • Database Infrastructure Tuning: Maintain, optimize, and scale relational engine clusters (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora) and NoSQL tiers (DynamoDB, Redis) by driving schema optimization, backups, and failover frameworks natively deploying SQL data paradigms.
  • Observability and Analytics Scaffolding: Enhance platform telemetry and event monitoring infrastructures by configuring alerts, dashboards, and tracing tools via CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Cloud Security Posture Management: Strengthen infrastructure boundaries through precise control over IAM permissions, cross-account access rules, network transit gateways, and compliance secrets management.
  • Incident Lifecycle Triage: Take absolute ownership over production incidents during the night shift, leading troubleshooting efforts, executing rigorous root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing preventative fixes.
  • Cost Optimization and Governance: Identify resource right-sizing opportunities, formulate capacity planning matrices, and deploy automation scripts to minimize cloud expenditure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Possess a formal Bachelor degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a matching highly technical engineering discipline (or equivalent verified practical history).
  • A minimum of 4–5 years of proven, successful professional technology experience operating as a Cloud Operations Engineer, Infrastructure Architect, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or closely matching tech-driven infrastructure configuration capacity.
  • Expert AWS Networking and Security Command: Advanced practical literacy designing and troubleshooting multi-tier cloud topologies, complex VPC transit gateways, security groups, and rigid IAM policies.
  • Meticulous production experience constructing container environments, building multi-stage Docker images, managing ECR registries, and running automated deployment streams via CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline).
  • Solid practical background deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration baselines natively utilizing Terraform and Puppet at scale.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and textual presentation communication strengths in English, with an established background collaborating cleanly across distributed multi-regional engineering cells.
  • Shift & Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified cloud engineering authorities residing permanently within the United Kingdom, requiring uncompromised operational capacity to fulfill fixed night shift schedules (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM UK Time).

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Possess professional domain certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Prior platform or operations background managing large-scale system deployments explicitly inside the enterprise cloud contact center (CCaaS), high-volume SaaS, or heavy fintech transaction sectors.
  • An adaptable, task-driven persona characterized by high attention to detail, a customer-centric focus, and a passion for continuous architectural improvement.

What We Offer

  • Top-Tier UK Enterprise Cloud Engineering Remuneration Matrix: A highly competitive annual salary package calibrated precisely to your infrastructure pedigree and container management velocity, backed by stable NASDAQ-listed resources.
  • Premium lifestyle flexibility via the NICE-FLEX model, enabling a fluid structural mix of 3 days remote work and 2 days at the regional office to maximize face-to-face collaborative innovation outside of your shift hours.
  • Macro-Scale Digital Infrastructure Footprint: Elite career landmarks achieved by single-handedly engineering the high-availability cloud platforms protecting and accelerating critical interactions for 85 of the Fortune 100 companies.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness preservation options tailored cleanly to your United Kingdom residential parameters.
  • Access to an outstanding, low-bureaucracy international tech community featuring endless internal development programs, modern technical equipment provisions, and an environment built to support lifelong mastery.
