Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role: First Connect Insurance Services is a digital marketplace providing independent insurance agents access to top US carriers. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Activation team. You will own the agent experience across onboarding and growth, helping newly registered agents take their first steps and outlink to a carrier within their first session.

What You'll Do

• Shape the agent's journey from sign-up by building onboarding flows, personalization logic, and initial incentives.
• Build and maintain automations that handle underlying compliance and producer verification.
• Play a key role in evolving foundational backend systems, ensuring new growth experiments coexist reliably with critical codebases.
• Work closely with the Discovery & Access team and US-based Product Managers to ensure a cohesive, friction-less experience.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of commercial experience in software development.
• Proficiency in our core tech stack: Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and asynchronous system architecture.
• A problem-solver mindset with the ability to dive deep into legacy code and act as a technical authority within the team.
• Fluency in both English and Polish, with strong communication skills to sync with stakeholders.
• Bonus: Familiarity with modern LLM tools in day-to-day workflows and experience creating observability-focused solutions.
