Senior AI System Software Developer

About the Role: Wealthsimple is Canada's largest fintech, trusted by over 3 million clients. The AI Systems team is focused on building Wealthsimple's first-party AI tools and platforms. We are looking for a Senior AI System Software Developer to build production-grade AI systems end-to-end, from frontend interfaces to backend services.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate first-party AI tools and platforms serving internal teams and Wealthsimple clients.
• Develop full-stack features across React frontends and Golang backend services.
• Build and maintain containerized microservices, ensuring reliable and scalable AI platforms.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and other AI capabilities through well-designed APIs.
• Contribute to platform architecture decisions and establish best practices for AI system development.

What You Bring

• Experience building and shipping production software as a full-stack or backend-focused developer.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and React, with hands-on experience in containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Interest in or experience with AI/ML systems, LLM integrations, or building AI-powered products.
• A product-oriented mindset with clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical teams.
• Bonus: Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), prompt engineering, or RAG patterns.
