Arvinas is a biotechnology company dedicated to improving patient lives through the discovery, development, and commercialization of therapies that degrade disease-causing proteins using its proprietary PROTAC Discovery Engine platform.

The role requires a hands-on, lab-focused scientist with expertise in driving neuroscience discovery programs via biochemical, immunocytochemical, and histochemical pharmacology readouts, with a strong preference for experience in high-content imaging (HCI) and histochemistry.

Principal Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

  • Design and implement in vitro pharmacology readouts using cellular biochemical, functional, and image-based endpoints, including modalities like ELISA/MSD, quantitative Western Blot (WB), HCI, and bioluminescence-based assays.
  • Provide technical and scientific leadership in immuno-histochemical endpoints for CNS and other tissues, contributing to a collaborative HCI working group focused on best practices and robust assay design solutions.
  • Generate data to support program decision-making and communicate results to teams and senior leadership.
  • Set and maintain high standards for data analysis and quality control (QC), driving innovative data interrogation methods.
  • Interface with the automated biology organization to identify and drive automation-ready assay strategies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a demonstrated ability to balance speed with rigor in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.
  • Possess systematic troubleshooting skills for biological assay systems.
  • Be an energetic, positive leader with the capacity to grow into a team leader.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

Education

B.S. / M.S. with 12+ years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 2-5 years of experience in imaging, cellular and molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, assay development, and biomolecular screening. A neuroscience background with pharma/biotech experience is preferred.
