School scheduling is a complex challenge that technology was designed to resolve, yet for decades, master schedules have been manually created, consuming educators’ time while delivering suboptimal results for students. Timely was founded to address this issue by building the tool we wished we had during our time in schools. Today, Timely is transforming how schools create high-quality schedules for both teachers and students.

Timely combines cutting-edge AI technology with expert support from a team of seasoned school schedulers, saving schedulers’ time and uncovering opportunities for leaders to unlock staff potential. The platform delivers optimized master schedules that are more efficient, accommodate diverse educator needs, and enable student access to courses and pathways that impact their lives.

Our district and school partners agree: scheduling is a pivotal opportunity for educational innovation, and Timely is the indispensable partner in tackling this challenge. We are experiencing rapid growth as a company, doubling down on our mission and people-centered approach to leveraging powerful technology. We serve districts and charter school organizations across 20+ states, growing and renewing at rates that lead the education technology industry. This growth has been driven by our strong product-market fit, deep understanding of education, and commitment to customer success.

About the Role

As a School Success Manager at Timely, you will be at the forefront of our mission to help schools create more effective, equitable, efficient, and innovative schedules. You will work directly with our school and district partners, guiding them through the entire scheduling process and ensuring they maximize the benefits of our platform and support model.

Role & Responsibilities

The School Success Manager role encompasses all aspects of Timely’s customer-facing support model:

  • Own a portfolio of schools: Guide district and charter schools through using Timely to build their master schedule.

    • Lead onboarding and training for new and returning school schedulers.
    • Provide end-to-end support to finalize schedules, requiring problem-solving through complex constraints and unique school needs.
    • Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including lead schedulers, principals, and other members of the scheduling teams.
    • Track success metrics for each school, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and renewal rates.
    • Serve as a strategic thought partner to school-based teams to ensure their schedule aligns with their unique priorities.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues as the external representative of Timely, with support from Timely’s product and engineering team.
  • Own a portfolio of accounts: Manage district and charter network accounts through the Timely customer journey, developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with district teams to establish partnership goals, implementation timelines, and training plans.
    • Serve as a strategic thought partner to ensure school schedules align with district and network priorities.
    • Provide tools and structures necessary for district leaders to manage master scheduling timelines and understand each school’s progress.
    • Support the data integration process by collaborating with district IT teams and Timely’s data integration team, owning aspects of the data transfer process (e.g., appropriately structuring data files for upload into the Timely app).
  • Support general operations:

    • Communicate and coordinate cross-functionally across Timely’s sales and marketing, and product and engineering teams to share customer feedback and insights into implementation that will improve sales, product, and overall solution.
    • Contribute to sales efforts during the scheduling off-season, including joining sales pitches, leading product demos, and answering questions from prospective school partners.
    • Pitch in wherever and whenever needed to contribute to team success.

What We Are Looking For in Candidates

The role requires someone with:

  • Meaningful experience developing middle and/or high school schedules.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and work in a scrappy environment.

The following additional experiences would also be a plus:

  • Customer success or related experience, including building systems/processes and consistently delivering support to people and teams so they can achieve their goals.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth entrepreneurial environment.

Who You Are

  • An experienced scheduler: Someone who has lived secondary scheduling and has at least 2+ years of experience building and owning a middle and/or high school schedule.

  • A “school person”: You’ve worked at least 5 years inside a school. You understand the operations and culture of schools and are driven to improve how schools operate and help them use their most precious resources—time, money, and talent—to best serve students.

  • Detail-oriented: You meticulously review schedules, slides, and other related documents with critical attention to detail.

  • Strategic: You can take in many different signals, cut through the noise, communicate clearly, and deliver for our district/CMO and school partners.

  • Efficient: You are excited to build an impactful product in a lean environment. You can handle multiple priorities, tasks, and requests simultaneously.

  • Collaborative: You have experience working across cross-functional teams and are comfortable in an environment requiring constant collaboration with other colleagues.
