Youâll be responsible for building relationships with key decision-makers at the district level, driving new business and expansion. This role will focus on selling Newselaâs suite of products including assessment, data warehousing, and MTSS tools.
In your day-to-day, you will manage pipeline management and forecasting, design lead generation campaigns, and manage sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also become well-versed in your territoryâs funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy.
What Youâll Be Doing:
- Own your territory, manage the entire lifecycle of a sale, and build new business relationships that bring Schoolyticsâ solutions to classrooms.
- Develop territory business plans, evaluate funding landscapes, and tailor sales strategies to align with district initiatives.
- Achieve your own revenue targets while working with a cross-functional team to scale Schoolyticsâ growth.
- Meet virtually with school and district leaders, presenting solutions, negotiating terms, and securing agreements.
- Directly impact the expansion and adoption of Schoolytics products, scaling Newselaâs ability to bring engaging, culturally responsive learning content to K-12 classrooms nationwide.
- Thrive in a role requiring significant autonomy, representing the company in the market, making strategic recommendations, and managing priorities independently.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment on customer needs, structuring tailored solutions, negotiating within guidelines, and influencing revenue and business outcomes.
About You:
- 2+ years of full-cycle (prospecting through closing) K-12 EdTech sales experience, with a track record of hitting or exceeding large sales quotas, required.
- Experience selling core curriculum, Assessment, Data warehouse, and/or MTSS in the K-12 EdTech market required.
- A prospector who builds a book of business from scratch, with experience in networking, prospecting, pipeline generation, and forecasting in EdTech.
- Strategic territory manager with executive presence to lead consultative district conversations and navigate multiple stakeholders.
- Proven experience in high-volume district sales, building a book of business from scratch.
- Self-starter who drives sales quickly to a close and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, adaptable, a fast learner, and meets established sales goals in an agile environment.
- Excited by opportunities to connect face-to-face; travel estimated at around 25%.
- Open to flexible hours to meet customer and business needs; majority of accounts in Eastern and Central time zones.
- Experiencing using AI tools to drive greater efficiency and productivity.
- Legally authorized to work in the US.

Newsela
View Company ProfileNewsela is an instructional content platform that solves a huge problem in classrooms: every student reads at a different level. Newsela takes real-world contentâlike news articles from The Washington Post, National Geographic, or historical textsâand rewrites them at 5 different reading levels. This means a teacher can discuss a single topic (e.g., 'Space Exploration') with the entire class, but each student gets a version of the text that matches their specific reading ability. The struggling reader gets a simple version, and the advanced student gets a complex one, but they all learn the same core information.
