Job Description

Make a Real Difference — On Your Schedule

At Daybreak Health, we’re on a mission to make quality mental healthcare accessible to every person who needs it, from teens to adults. Through our partnerships with 60+ school districts and Kaiser Permanente — reaching over a million students nationwide — we’re expanding access even further, now offering therapy to adults through our Kaiser program too.

We’re growing our California clinician network and would love to welcome you! Join a team that gives you a steady stream of referrals, a caseload that’s already close to full (our clinicians currently average a 96% caseload fill rate), and the freedom to build your practice fully remotely, on your own terms.

Who We’re Looking For

Compassionate, fully licensed clinicians (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP) ready to provide teletherapy across California to clients ages 11–60. Every caseload includes some youth clients (ages 11–24), and you’re welcome to round it out with adults, more youth, or a mix — whatever fits your clinical strengths.

Associate and provisionally licensed clinicians aren’t eligible for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $75–$95 per session, plus guaranteed pay for no-shows and late cancellations
  • Onboarding stipend to help you hit the ground running
  • Paid clinical consultation, malpractice insurance provided, and free CE credits year-round
  • 1099 independent contractor flexibility — no commute, no minimum office hours, just a caseload and schedule built around your life

Flexibility That Actually Works

  • Fully remote — work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Set your own hours, Monday–Sunday, 8am–8pm PT (weekends optional)
  • Just 5 sessions/week minimum, no cap — we do the heavy lifting on filling your caseload, matching and booking your initial sessions directly into your availability, so you can spend less time chasing referrals and more time in the room with clients. You own your recurring session calendar from there.
  • We also handle billing and credentialing, so you can stay focused on care, not paperwork

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong, trusting therapeutic relationships with clients across age groups
  • Provide evidence-based individual teletherapy to clients ages 11–24 or 18-60 with mild-to-moderate mental health needs
  • Offer psychoeducation to parents/caregivers when working with younger clients

What You Bring

  • Active LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP license in the State of California
  • A passion for mental health care, with a commitment to culturally responsive, equitable practice
  • Experience providing individual therapy to youth and/or adults
  • Comfort and prior experience with telehealth service delivery

View Company Profile

Daybreak Health is a mission-driven digital health company focused exclusively on addressing the youth mental health crisis through comprehensive, school-based teletherapy programs. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco, California, the company partners directly with school districts and over 50 health plans across the United States to provide K-12 students with accessible, evidence-based mental health support, regardless of their insurance status. By offering a hybrid approach that includes customized teletherapy, in-person therapy, universal screeners, and specialized programs for higher-risk subpopulations (such as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ youth), Daybreak Health aims to treat students to a place of concrete, long-term improvement rather than just offering short-term transitional care. Trusted by top school districts and representing more than 1.5 million enrolled students, Daybreak actively improves academic outcomes by addressing the foundational mental health challenges that hinder a student's ability to learn, focus, and thrive.
