Research Scientist

About the Role: At Prolific, we are redefining AI development by delivering high-quality, diverse human data infrastructure. We are hiring a Research Scientist to own a dedicated research portfolio focused on pressing questions in online research today, including data quality, online methodologies, and the impact of AI. As an individual contributor, you will design and lead your own research agenda, collaborate closely with the Sciences team, and build partnerships with academic and industry collaborators.

What You'll Do

• Lead a dedicated research portfolio designing and executing primary research on data quality, online sampling, and AI effects.
• Produce high-grade, publishable research that meets standards at leading academic venues and high IF journals.
• Build and manage external partnerships with academic institutions and industry partners.
• Present and disseminate your work at academic conferences, industry events, and through media channels.
• Contribute to the wider sciences agenda spanning representativeness, synthetic data, and methodological innovation.

What You Bring

• PhD in a relevant quantitative field such as psychology, computational social science, statistics, economics, or similar.
• Strong quantitative research skills, including experimental design and statistical analysis, with proficiency in tools such as R, Python, or Qualtrics.
• Strong grounding in online research methods, data quality assessment, and non-probability sampling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead research projects end-to-end with a track record of publications or conference presentations.
• A self-starter mentality with high output, comfortable working at pace and translating ideas into concrete directions.
• Bonus: Postdoctoral or industry research experience, familiarity with online panel platforms, and comfort with media engagement.
