Job Description
Remo is redefining dementia care by centering both the patient and the caregiver in the journey. They offer a virtual clinic delivering personalized, expert-led care plans tailored to the unique needs of patients and families, ensuring no one navigates dementia alone.
Remo Medical Group, P.A., is hiring a remote physician (MD or DO) specializing in dementia care.
This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing longitudinal care for patients with dementia, focusing on dyad care—supporting both the patient and their caregiver. The physician will operate within an interdisciplinary team framework, leveraging expertise in behavioral neurology and a robust longitudinal care navigation model.
The ideal candidate is a physician leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about the intersection of medicine and technology. As a Behavioral Neurologist, you will:
Care Delivery:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor multidisciplinary care team members to deliver high-value, empathetic patient care.
- Stay current with the latest research and advances in dementia care, translating this knowledge to the team to ensure the highest quality of care (e.g., screening pathways, social determinants of health, fall risk assessment, high-risk medication management).
- Collaborate and provide geriatric expertise oversight for interdisciplinary team questions.
Clinical Practice and Operations:
- Identify areas for improvement in the care model and technical platform to enhance quality of care, dyad satisfaction, and provider experience.
- Contribute to program evaluation by identifying key metrics for dyad outcomes, clinician satisfaction, and care model improvement. Lead population health initiatives and refine care models based on real-world evidence and clinical best practices.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Operations to meet key clinical KPIs, such as quality targets, utilization metrics, and patient/provider satisfaction.
- Develop, implement, and maintain educational opportunities for clinical providers, including case conferences and guest lectures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work in cross-functional teams to translate Remo’s high-touch care philosophy into clinical requirements for internal tools and patient-facing interfaces.
- Provide rigorous clinical validation for new features, ensuring every technical iteration enhances dyad relationships and adheres to the highest medical standards.
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
- Required Credentials: Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and a graduate of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency.
- Clinical Experience: 5+ years of clinical practice experience, with a focus on caring for older adults with cognitive disorders.
- Licensure: An active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state, with preference for multi-state licenses.
- Collaborative Spirit: Experience and passion for working within interdisciplinary care teams, along with a commitment to educating families and other clinical providers.
- Startup Agility: Prior experience in a high-growth startup or digital health environment, with the ability to systematically break down complex problems and navigate challenges creatively.
- Remote Excellence: Strong communication skills tailored for a remote-first environment, including proficiency with asynchronous tools like Slack and Notion.
You’re the Ideal Candidate If You Have:
- Subspecialty Expertise: Fellowship training in behavioral neurology or substantial expertise in dementia and related cognitive disorders.
- Advanced Certification: Board Certified in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry (BNNP) by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS).
- Targeted Licensure: An active, unrestricted license in WA, OR, ID, or OH.
- Clinical Depth: A strong understanding of strategies to prevent cognitive decline and dementia, diagnostic approaches to dementia subtypes, interpretation of neuroimaging and neuropsychological evaluations, non-pharmacological and pharmacologic approaches to symptom management, and advance care planning for neurodegenerative disease.
- Builder Mentality: A passion for building, iterating, and improving a novel care model and technical platform.
- Mission Drive: A belief that the current state of dementia care is unacceptable and a deep desire to build a better model for families in need.
