Position Overview
We are seeking a highly collaborative, systems-oriented Public Affairs Manager to represent Stripe to governments, regulators, industry partners, and broader stakeholder communities. Embedded within our elite Legal organization under the Government Affairs and Public Affairs team, you will drive the development and execution of global advocacy campaigns. This role acts as a vital cross-functional bridge, adapting macro policy narratives into local market realities, drafting high-signal briefing collaterals, and establishing trusted institutional coalitions to protect the needs of our online merchants.
Key Responsibilities

- Narrative Localization: Partner closely with regional Government Affairs, Communications, and Marketing leads to adapt overarching playbooks, incorporating robust data insights and local proof points.
- Stakeholder Relationship Governance: Manage, track, and mature Stripe’s institutional network across key trade associations, academic think tanks, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and strategic industry allies.
- Policy Collateral Production: Draft and maintain meticulous briefing papers, policy messaging matrices, executive talking points, and short-form advocacy content tailored for international regulatory audiences.
- Advocacy Convenings: Organize highly structured events and policy roundtable discussions that bring Stripe executive leaders, platform merchants, and external regulators together.
- Performance Telemetry: Track, evaluate, and report on the overall impact and conversion metrics of global public affairs initiatives to optimize ongoing campaign playbooks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of verified professional history running public policy campaigns, public affairs initiatives, government relations, or high-stakes advocacy operations.
- Demonstrated tracking history executing political campaigns, building multi-stakeholder coalitions, and managing technical policy events.
- Outstanding, professional written and verbal English communication mechanics, with specific expertise translating dense legislative tracking into crisp briefings.
- Solid foundational understanding of international regulatory environments and the global payments infrastructure ecosystem.
- Location Context: Flexible remote framework open to qualified policy professionals permanently residing within the United States (or available via Brussels infrastructure routes).
- Mobility Mandate: Full willingness and baseline capability to travel up to 25% for cross-regional regulatory meetings and industry convenings.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Established relationships and functional network connections inside the US and European political or regulatory ecosystems.
- Prior advocacy history navigating integration barriers within financial services, tech sectors, or digital marketplace spaces.
- Multilingual capabilities extending beyond professional English fluency.
What We Offer
- Targeted Annual Base Salary: $144,600 – $217,000 USD per annum (Calibrated transparently against individual qualification depth, geographic coordinate factors, and interview metrics).
- Comprehensive premium health coverage options spanning medical, dental, and vision insurance profiles.
- Subsidized access to company performance bonuses, early equity vectors, and a 401(k) plan featuring corporate employer match.
- Dedicated wellness stipends paired with fully remote work flexibility (defined as living 35+ miles from a physical Stripe campus hub).
- A high-leverage opportunity to execute mission-critical infrastructure advocacy on an application window open up to 100 days from publication.
