Product Owner (Contract) - Remote (EU based, GMT timezone)

About the Role:

As a Product Owner at YLD, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. We’re looking for someone curious, passionate, driven, and enthusiastic with 3+ years of experience in problem-solving and turning a product vision into a roadmap and backlog.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Product Vision and Management

• Collaborate with the client on product vision, set team goals, and guide the team to meet the client’s objectives;
• Develop a deep understanding of customer personas, jobs-to-be-done, and product behaviors;
• Lead a cross-functional team and identify customer needs to deliver innovative solutions;
• Develop and prioritize a roadmap and coherent product backlog with internal and external partners.

Backlog Management

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize product features based on business goals, stakeholder expectations, and market needs;
• Manage the backlog to ensure it is up-to-date, relevant, and actionable for development teams;
• Work alongside the client on discovery for new features;
• Optimize technical solutions to avoid over- and under-engineering, focusing on the right areas with the tech lead;
• Track and monitor features’ performance and functionality post-launch for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, guiding digital products from discovery to launch;
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.);
• Confident in writing and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and running backlog refinement;
• Comfortable using prioritization frameworks to make trade-offs clear to stakeholders;
• Experience with analytics, experimentation, and user research to inform product decisions;
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in client-facing or consultancy settings.
