We are seeking a strategic, technically fluent Product Manager to join the MeridianLink Consumer product team β the team behind our flagship consumer lending origination platform. In this role, you will own a defined area of the consumer lending experience, partnering closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver high-impact improvements that matter to the financial institutions and borrowers we serve.
MeridianLink Consumer is a complex, deeply integrated platform with a large and growing customer base. The PM team works collaboratively across product areas β from origination workflows and credit decisioning to API integrations and digital borrower experiences. You will contribute meaningfully to team strategy while driving focused execution within your domain.
We want someone who brings strong product instincts, a genuine curiosity about financial technology, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Experience with API-integrated platforms and a passion for using modern technology β including AI/ML and real-time data β to improve lending experiences will set you apart.
Responsibilities:
Discovery & Product Delivery
- Own the roadmap for your product area within MeridianLink Consumer, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Lead continuous discovery through customer interviews, usage analytics, and collaboration with financial institution partners to identify high-value problems worth solving.
- Write crisp, well-reasoned PRDs and user stories that give engineering teams the clarity they need to build with confidence.
- Drive agile delivery ceremonies and maintain a healthy, well-prioritized backlog aligned to team OKRs.
- Define and monitor product KPIs for your area, using data to inform prioritization and demonstrate business impact.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with fellow PMs on the Consumer team to ensure coherence across product areas and alignment on platform-level decisions.
- Partner with Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success, and Compliance to drive alignment and unblock delivery.
- Serve as the product expert for your domain β representing customer needs internally and translating them into clear requirements.
- Contribute to team-level strategy discussions and help shape the broader Consumer product roadmap over time.
Innovation & Domain Expertise
- Identify opportunities to incorporate modern capabilities β such as AI/ML-assisted decisioning, intelligent automation, and API extensibility β into your product area.
- Stay current on consumer lending trends, fintech competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments (CFPB, TILA, ECOA, fair lending) relevant to your domain.
- Champion thoughtful UX and API-first design patterns that keep MeridianLink Consumer competitive with emerging fintech challengers.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant product management experience.
- Proven track record of owning a product area end-to-end β discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration.
- Experience managing API-integrated software products with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong command of agile methodologies and modern product discovery practices (Jobs-to-Be-Done, continuous discovery, etc.).
- Analytical mindset β comfortable using data and product analytics tools to drive decisions and measure outcomes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders.
- Deep customer empathy β you've invested real time understanding users and translated those insights into shipped improvements.
Strongly Preferred
- Domain experience in consumer lending, loan origination systems (LOS), or financial institution software.
- Familiarity with API/integration products β you understand developer needs and how platform extensibility creates value.
- Exposure to AI/ML in product contexts β you've thought carefully about where intelligent automation adds genuine value vs. hype.
- Experience working with or selling to banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of consumer lending regulations (TILA, ECOA, fair lending, CFPB guidance).
