About The Role:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join House of Party (HOP) — one of the brands under Petra Brands — specializing in innovative and trend-driven party and craft products.
The Product Designer will play a key role in designing and developing new product concepts, packaging, and seasonal collections that reflect the brand’s fun, celebratory, and modern aesthetic. Working closely with the Head of Creatives, this role supports the full product development cycle from ideation to production, ensuring that each product is retail-ready, visually compelling, and aligned with market trends
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in the creation and delivery of biannual retail product catalogs.
- Track progress of product subcategories (e.g., for Pixel Pop, Muddies, Threadies, etc.), ensuring deadlines for SKU definition, pricing, packaging, and samples are met.
- Coordinate with design, sourcing, and marketing teams to ensure all product materials and visuals are ready for internal and retail presentations.
- Work closely with the Head of Creatives, Sourcing, and Private Label teams to align on design direction, materials, and production feasibility.
- Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure designs meet quality, material, and cost standards.
- Review samples and provide design feedback during pre-production.
- Ensure product and packaging designs align with brand guidelines and seasonal themes.
- Support the development of cohesive product collections that align with broader campaign or retail strategies.
- Stay updated with retail and design trends within the party goods, gifting, and lifestyle categories.
- Benchmark competitor products and propose improvements or innovation opportunities.
- Prepare detailed design specs, product renders, and print-ready files for supplier handoff.
- Maintain organized design records, templates, and version control for ongoing projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in retail or private label product design, preferably within party products, packaging, gifting, or seasonal goods.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; familiarity with 3D or mockup tools (e.g., Blender, SolidWorks, Keyshot) is a plus.
- Good understanding of materials, print processes, dielines, and packaging mechanics.
- Ability to balance creative thinking with practical design execution.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills — ability to collaborate with creatives, sourcing, and marketing teams effectively.
- Interest in seasonal trends (Christmas, Halloween, Birthdays, etc.) relevant to the party industry.
