About Netlify: Netlify is the world’s most popular platform for building, deploying, and scaling modern web applications, empowering millions of users from fast-moving independent developers to global enterprise pods. As a Series D trailblazer that has raised over $200M from marquee investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, and Bessemer Venture Partners, Netlify simplifies the path from idea to URL. Leading the software development industry into the next era, Netlify is embedding fluid experiences directly into the Agent Experience (AX), making it simple for intelligent agents and inference tools to interact with, understand, and compose production-ready web surfaces seamlessly and reliably.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly autonomous, data-fluent, and monetization-focused Principal Product Manager (Growth) to claim complete strategic ownership of Netlify’s global self-serve funnel under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across the world. In this business-critical tech leadership seat, you will treat the self-serve funnel as a standalone core product, managing activation, expansion, conversion, and retention under a single unifying north star metric: net-new self-serve Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). Shifting completely away from non-regulated corporate filing routines, standalone front-end user interface canvas styling, or simple helpdesk operational customer support ticketing, you will direct an active optimization, funnel telemetry instrumentation, and product-led growth (PLG) experimentation laboratory. You will partner face-to-face with executive leaders across Engineering, Data, Design, GTM, and Finance cells. This position requires a Growth PM authority with 7+ years of history who guides user-acquisition funnels fluidly natively using Project Management paradigms, designs data-backed conversion experiments around usage or credit economics, builds reliable multi-touch attribution structures, and establishes clear pipelines to hand off product-qualified accounts to enterprise sales units.
Key Responsibilities
- Self-Serve ARR Funnel Governance: Architect, oversee, and optimize the end-to-end self-serve developer lifecycle—managing net-new acquisition, expansion add-ons, contraction, and user churn as a single metric natively utilizing Project Management frameworks.
- Funnel Telemetry & Instrumentation: Lead the design and configuration of deep funnel instrumentation pipelines, engineering multi-channel attributions, unified event taxonomies, and cross-platform cohort mappings.
- Rigorous Experimentation Practice: Formulate, stand up, and run a high-velocity, robust product experimentation practice, building the team’s data muscle and establishing explicit success and kill thresholds.
- Time-to-Value Activation Engineering: Track user friction behaviors to redefine early milestone triggers, shorten developer path-to-first-deploy steps, and drastically accelerate initial time-to-value metrics.
- In-Product Monetization Optimization: Own and experiment with in-product monetization mechanics, seamlessly refining paywalls, free-to-paid conversions, upgrade paths, seat scaling, and consumption credit economic indicators.
- PLG-to-Sales Enterprise Handoff: Synthesize behavioral platform usage signals to define Product-Qualified Accounts (PQAs), building seamless handoff paths to strategic GTM sales teams.
- Executive Strategy Representation: Author and present long-term funnel roadmaps, strategy decks, and revenue telemetry mappings directly to the C-suite and executive leadership circles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 7+ years of proven, professional history operating inside a Senior Growth Product Manager, PLG Specialist, Technical Solutions Architect, or closely related quantitative software product leadership capacity.
- Expert Developer Platform Funnel Command: Demonstrated history building, measuring, and independently scaling a usage-priced, developer-focused, or consumption-priced self-serve growth funnel from end to end.
- Profound, hands-on command over analytical measurement frameworks, multi-variant testing, event telemetry tools, and automated funnel mapping dashboards.
- Deep understanding of web monetization economics, including paywall rules, usage metrics, free tiers, seat expansion patterns, and credit depletion mechanics.
- Outstanding cross-functional alignment and communication strengths in English, with an established capacity to influence and coordinate distributed pods across Data, Engineering, and Finance without formal authority.
- Location Context: Position operates under remote parameters open exclusively to qualified product growth executives all around the world.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience or structural platform background engineering conversion or activation metrics for an AI model, autonomous agent workspace, or inference funnel.
- Practical product background standing up an enterprise-grade custom experimentation framework or analytics platform from scratch.
- Familiarity with viral expansion mechanics, developer referral loops, or modern JavaScript application hosting topologies.
What We Offer
- Top-Tier US Product Management Remuneration: A highly competitive annual base salary range of $226,000 - $300,000 USD for standard US-based markets, supplemented by robust equity participation options and comprehensive rewards.
- 100% remote workspace infrastructure freedom across the world, allowing maximum geographical flexibility within a fully distributed, mature operating model.
- Direct High-Scale Operating Credentials: Unique professional growth milestones achieved by directing the flagship user acquisition tunnel relied upon by millions of modern web developers.
- Comprehensive health care preservation benefits protecting employees, providing premium coverage channels across medical, dental, and vision networks.
- Access to continuous learning budgets, home office equipment setups, inclusive company resource networks, and a thoughtful, compassionate culture dedicated to building a better web.
