As a Principal Product Manager at SimSpace, you will help define the future of cybersecurity and AI readiness. SimSpace provides advanced, realistic cyber ranges as an AI Proving Grounds for mission critical organizations worldwide. This role is strategic in leading the development of our platform to enable organizations to train defenders, evaluate security controls, rehearse missions, test operational resilience, and validate emerging AI and agentic systems under realistic conditions.

AI systems and autonomous agents are rapidly becoming part of how organizations defend, operate, automate, and make decisions. As adoption accelerates, enterprises and government organizations need trusted environments to understand how these systems perform, where they fail, how they behave under adversarial pressure, and whether they can be safely deployed in mission-critical workflows. SimSpace is uniquely positioned to provide the realistic cyber environments, instrumentation, emulation, and validation workflows required to support that transformation.

In this role, you will define and drive platform capabilities that support AI training, testing, evaluation, and validation within realistic cyber environments. The role requires a product leader who can operate at the intersection of AI systems, cybersecurity, enterprise platform architecture, simulation, automation, and customer outcomes. You will partner across engineering, design, cyber subject matter experts, go-to-market teams, and customers to ensure SimSpace products are technically sound, commercially relevant, strategically differentiated, and measurable in the value they deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform capabilities that support AI Proving Grounds, agent validation, cyber tool efficacy, security automation, and realistic cyber training and testing.

  • Identify customer, market, and technology trends at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, autonomous agents, cyber ranges, simulation, security operations, and controls validation.

  • Prioritize features and initiatives based on customer value, strategic differentiation, business impact, technical feasibility, platform leverage, and long-term product direction.

  • Translate ambiguous market needs into clear product opportunities, investment rationale, roadmap sequencing, and measurable success criteria.

  • Build alignment across product, engineering, leadership, sales, marketing, customer success, support, and cyberscurity subject matter experts.

Platform Product Development

  • Partner closely with engineering and design teams to develop and deliver high-quality core and cross-application platform capabilities.

  • Create and manage initiative- and epic-level requirements, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation that enable engineering teams to deliver against defined outcomes.

  • Define functional and non-functional requirements for platform capabilities, including performance, reliability, scalability, security, observability, data quality, extensibility, integration, and operational requirements.

  • Shape platform capabilities that may include environment orchestration, scenario execution, AI and agent interfaces, evaluation workflows, telemetry, ground truth, reporting, APIs, infrastructure automation, and customer-facing controls.

  • Serve as a credible product partner to senior engineering leaders on architectural tradeoffs, system constraints, technical dependencies, implementation approaches, and delivery risks.

  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept through launch and ongoing adoption, ensuring timely delivery and measurable customer impact.

  • Partner with cybersecurity subject matter experts to ensure platform capabilities reflect realistic attacks, threat actor behavior, adversary emulation, defender workflows, operational constraints, and controls validation needs.

  • Establish product capabilities that help customers connect AI and agent validation to readiness, resilience, risk reduction, and mission outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to align on product goals, roadmap priorities, technical tradeoffs, and launch plans.

  • Communicate product strategy, progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Represent platform strategy in customer conversations, executive discussions, roadmap reviews, and cross-functional planning.

  • Resolve prioritization conflicts across customer needs, engineering constraints, business requirements, and long-term platform health.

Customer Focus

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, market signals, and competitive insights to inform product decisions.

  • Work with customer success, sales, solutions, support, and cyber subject matter experts to understand customer needs, pain points, workflows, and emerging buying patterns.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how customers train defenders, validate controls, assess cyber readiness, evaluate security investments, and explore AI or agentic use cases.

  • Ensure the product delivers a compelling user experience and meets the needs of technical users, security leaders, operators, and executive buyers.

Performance & Metrics

  • Define and monitor key product metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement.

  • Establish measures for platform adoption, workflow completion, evaluation quality, reliability, performance, customer value, and business impact.

  • Connect platform investments to outcomes that customers and the business can understand and measure.

Leadership

  • Mentor and guide product managers and cross-functional team members.

  • Raise the quality of product thinking, requirements definition, technical discovery, roadmap communication, and outcome measurement across the team.
