Principal Data Architect - Battery Storage

About the Role: Plus Power is an energy storage market leader focused on decarbonizing power markets. We are looking for a Principal Data Architect to help turn a fast-growing, multi-source data environment into a coherent, trusted, and easy-to-use analytical ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, analytics platforms, and data engineering.

What You'll Do

• Define and evolve data architecture standards for analytics and reporting, including data modeling and naming conventions.
• Own the data catalog and metadata strategy to build an expressive model of institutional knowledge.
• Design high-ingestion pipelines (InfluxDB, Timescale) capable of handling millions of data points per second from globally distributed battery sites.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on ELT patterns, Snowflake usage, schema evolution, and analytical data modeling.
• Ensure data architectures comply with grid-specific regulations (like NERC CIP).

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics platform development.
• Strong expertise in analytical data modeling, including dimensional modeling and semantic layers.
• Deep working knowledge of SQL, Python, and ELT-based architectures built on Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with PostgreSQL (AWS Aurora), data governance frameworks, and high-ingestion tools.
• Track record of cross-functional collaboration with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
