About Zencore: Zencore is a premier, rapidly expanding technology consulting firm founded natively by former Google Cloud leaders, principal architects, and senior software engineers. Dedicated to eliminating operational obstacles, mitigating systemic risk, and radically accelerating implementation timelines, Zencore supports enterprise customers transitioning to public cloud networks. We embed deeply within customer technical teams to supply strategic structural guidance, facilitate critical technology decisions, and execute complex code deployments in a highly collaborative, co-development style built around Google Cloud software modernization frameworks.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly sophisticated, multi-domain expert to join our Cloud Engineering organization as a Principal Architect, Infrastructure in a full-time remote capacity. In this high-trust technical leadership seat, you will serve as a premier ambassador of our cloud engineering capabilities, taking absolute technical oversight and end-to-end delivery accountability for professional services projects. Moving far beyond traditional consultative frameworks, you must operate as an active, hands-on practitioner who is equally comfortable designing resilient multi-tenant architectures and executing infrastructure as code configurations. This role demands an elite problem solver who can navigate technical ambiguity, author compelling Statements of Work (SoWs), and mentor engineering cells to up-skill client teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Solution Engineering: Evaluate client operational requirements and technical challenges to architect scalable, resilient cloud-native solutions built on modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Hands-On Infrastructure Automation: Develop, test, and deploy infrastructure as code scripts, containerization topologies, serverless platform matrices, and highly secure cloud networking systems natively inside Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Project Scoping & SoW Generation: Partner alongside business leaders to generate accurate engineering skill estimates, technical timelines, and comprehensive proposals to shape clear Statements of Work.
  • Delivery & Technical Oversight: Serve as the lead technical project representative, keeping cloud-native delivery tracks on schedule and independently unblocking multi-disciplinary software pods when problems occur.
  • DevSecOps Pipeline Hardening: Configure and manage secure, modern continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, implementing automated compliance checks and security posture scans.
  • Organizational Engineering Mentorship: Act as a domain expert inside the cloud engineering cell, organizing technical training sessions and teaching advanced architectural patterns to up-skill the broader collective.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an adjacent quantitative technical discipline (or equivalent practical corporate engineering history).
  • Demonstrated history designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability cloud-native architectures within a production public cloud setting, with a heavy emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Hands-on mastery configuring everyday DevSecOps practices, software compilation tools, automated deployment configurations, and declarative microservices.
  • Granular, deep-tier structural expertise in at least one or more specialized infrastructure domains: Kubernetes orchestration, relational/non-relational databases, software architecture, or cloud networking loops.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with a proven capability to explain advanced infrastructure limitations cleanly to non-technical client audiences over video meetings.
  • Demonstrated capacity to self-direct and learn emerging cloud methodologies, automation tools, and containerized architectures quickly within fast-moving environments.
  • Location Context: 100% remote-first full-time operational flexibility optimized for qualified infrastructure architects permanently based anywhere within the United States.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Possession of professional-level cloud industry credentials, specifically Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certifications.
  • Prior background working within professional services consulting firms or technology-accelerator agencies handling Fortune 500 cloud migrations.

What We Offer

  • The exceptional professional runway to architect, build, and lead complex cloud transformation strategies alongside former Google Cloud engineering leaders.
  • Highly competitive compensation metrics paired with an elite corporate employee benefits package.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters providing total geographical flexibility across United States tech nodes.
  • A collaborative, low-bureaucracy technology environment that honors high-signal software craft, technical autonomy, and continuous collaborative co-development wins.
