Position Overview
We are seeking a highly sophisticated, operationally driven Premium Audit Senior Manager to lead our comprehensive premium audit operations division in a full-time, 100% remote capacity within the United States. In this highly visible technical leadership seat, you will claim complete strategic and financial accountability for the full premium audit lifecycle across Workers’ Compensation (WC) and General Liability (GL) lines of business. Moving completely past basic check-box tracking, you will build and scale a robust QA infrastructure, streamline multi-state reconciliation backlogs, and actively partner with Engineering and Data Science squads to deploy next-generation AI-centric audit automation tools. This role demands a seasoned insurance authority who brings deep compliance mastery of NCCI and WCIRB regulations, commands robust vendor optimization practices, and excels at translating raw production trends into structured, executive-ready data insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Lifecycle Operational Execution: Claim end-to-end ownership over the premium audit lifecycle for high-stakes Workers’ Compensation and General Liability portfolios, actively supervising production pipelines, reconciliation workflows, and backlog volumes.
- Strict Regulatory Compliance Alignment: Ensure unconditional adherence to multi-state insurance parameters, including NCCI and WCIRB guidelines, governing payroll validation rules, audit documentation standards, and overall premium accuracy.
- Team Leadership & Calibration: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing distributed organization of frontline audit managers and specialized quality assurance (QA) staff, establishing goals that align with institutional expectations.
- QA Program Instrumentation: Spearhead a comprehensive quality assurance framework to verify precision across payroll class code applications, utilizing multi-tenant trend analysis to isolate systemic errors and implement permanent corrective scripts.
- Vendor & Spend Architecture: Manage third-party external audit vendors by optimizing account assignment strategies and quality standards, partnering beside Finance teams on budget analysis and cost-optimization loops.
- AI Automation & Product Partnership: Serve as the primary Go-To-Market operational lead for audit system automation, collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Data Science to define requirements, track testing phases, and deploy LLM and AI-centric tools.
- Executive Performance Reporting: Refine, maintain, and deliver granular weekly, monthly, and quarterly production reports, detailing organizational capacity, quality anomalies, and structural performance metrics for executive sponsors.
- Cross-Functional Dispute Resolution: Act as the principal escalation owner for state insurance department inquiries, working closely with Underwriting, Claims, and Compliance cells to resolve complex regulatory disputes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of verified professional history running corporate premium audits, insurance compliance management, payroll validation engineering, or asset risk auditing.
- Specialized technical expertise executing multi-state Workers’ Compensation (WC) and General Liability (GL) commercial lines.
- 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing teams of managers and quality assurance (QA) analysts inside a performance-driven environment.
- Authoritative command of NCCI / WCIRB frameworks, class code logic rules, audit documentation paradigms, and underwriting risk rules.
- Strong technical capacity and comfort operating alongside evolving technical systems, reporting dashboards, database engines, and Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with a proven history delivering decision-ready findings in multi-stakeholder business environments.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (with a preferred academic focus centered on Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Insurance-related quantitative tracks).
- Location Context: Full-time remote-first parameters open exclusively to qualified premium audit leaders permanently based anywhere within the United States.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

- Proven asset history leading substantial, cross-functional product or software system implementations at an enterprise scale.
