Picture Editor, Horse & Hound - 6 Months FTC

About the Role: We're looking for a Picture Editor to join the Horse & Hound team for a six-month fixed maternity cover to oversee the management and organisation of all the magazine's photographic content. You'll be working within a small creative team to bring the magazine's pages to life, offering feedback and constructive ideas to keep the aesthetic looking fresh and appealing.

What You'll Do

• Manage the full photographic events calendar, booking shoots in advance for major reports, and coordinating last-minute interviews, cover shots, and events.
• Manage accounts and payments for photographic content.
• Act as the primary point of contact for an extensive network of photographers and event centres across the country.
• Negotiate fees with professional photographers and liaise with event centre managers.

What You Bring

• An in-depth understanding of the horse world (knowing your dressage from your showjumping).
• A creative eye for selecting accurate and impactful imagery.
• Capability to juggle a complex calendar and keep your cool when pages change at the eleventh hour.
• Strong and professional communication skills, both for negotiations and team collaborations.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and the competence to learn new systems and processes quickly.
