Payroll Specialist (Global Operations)

About the Role: Moniepoint Group is the fastest-growing fintech in Africa. We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to provide high-precision support in delivering accurate global payroll across our international markets. You will be the guardian of payroll data integrity, ensuring our workforce in India and the UK is paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliant financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Execution: Prepare and validate payroll inputs for India and UK, respecting local labor laws and regional nuances.
• Reconciliation: Execute monthly cycles including variance reviews and reconciliation of payroll feeders to the general ledger.
• HRIS Sync: Audit employee lifecycle changes (hires, promotions, terminations) between HRIS and payroll systems.
• Compliance & SOX: Adhere to SOX-compliant workflows, ensuring strict audit trails and internal control hierarchies.
• Statutory Filing: Support timely filing of PAYE, pensions, and local taxes across operating jurisdictions.
• Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with third-party providers (Razorpay, Payfit, etc.) and resolve employee payroll inquiries.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of dedicated payroll or HR operations experience in a professional environment.
• Hands-on experience with platforms like Payfit, Gusto, Razorpay, or similar cloud-based payroll tools.
• Strong analytical prowess and advanced proficiency in working with complex data sets and spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with maintaining internal controls (SOX) and international payroll scope (multi-currency).
• Basic understanding of regional payroll requirements for both India and the UK.
