We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to manage and process payroll for our growing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) organization. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, supporting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and serving as a key resource for employee payroll inquiries.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of payroll administration experience, strong knowledge of payroll compliance requirements, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. Experience with BambooHR and Deputy is preferred. Experience with IRA Prevailing wage payroll and certified payroll reporting is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Process multi-state payroll on a weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review, audit, and reconcile employee timekeeping data, attendance records, overtime, and paid leave balances
  • Maintain payroll records and employee earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, and direct deposit information
  • Administer payroll-related changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, compensation changes, and benefit deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Support prevailing wage projects by accurately tracking, processing, and reporting certified payroll and applicable fringe benefits
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure employee records and payroll information remain accurate and current
  • Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, taxes, leave balances, and payroll policies
  • Coordinate payroll tax filings and support year-end activities, including W-2 processing and payroll reconciliations
  • Monitor and maintain payroll system functionality and recommend process improvements where appropriate
  • Assist with labor distribution reporting, job costing, and workforce reporting as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information at all times
