The mission of Patient Access Operations is to facilitate organizational excellence within SmithRx through the delivery of high-impact process improvements, meticulous data and system maintenance, and the flawless execution of operational workflows for our Drug Pathway Engine.
As a Patient Access Programs Operations Specialist, you are the engine room of our programs. Your role is defined by tactical excellence and the ability to bridge the gap between strategy and day-to-day delivery. You will ensure that our Drug Pathway Programs are configured correctly, maintained rigorously, and updated in real-time to support our members and partners.
What you will do:
- Manage the day-to-day processing of Drug Pathway updates, ensuring all operational tasks are completed within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Perform hands-on data entry and system configuration within adjudication, Admin, and CRM platforms. Conduct audits to ensure that the live system reflects our internal clinical and financial standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal "trouble tickets" or operational bottlenecks. Resolve data discrepancies and system errors by collaborating directly with Data, Business systems, engineering, and Customer Success teams.
- Draft and update clear, step-by-step manuals for how Drug Pathways are managed to ensure consistency across the team and minimize the risk of human error.
- Assist in the rollout of new pharmacy programs by preparing the necessary data files, testing configurations in "sandbox" environments, and confirming successful "go-lives."
- Assist in supporting ad hoc projects and tasks as required by the business and assigned areas of expertise.
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Admin, Business, or Data Analytics preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume operational role (e.g., Pharmacy Technician, Claims Processing, Benefits Administration, or PBM Operations).
- Proven ability to handle repetitive, high-stakes tasks with zero-defect accuracy.
- High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling) for data analysis and reporting. Experience with SQL for data querying is a significant plus, but not required.
- Comfort with G-Suite/MS Office, Slack, Zoom, or similar technologies to manage cross-functional communication.
- Experience with Salesforce (preferred), Zendesk, Jira (preferred), or similar technologies for tracking and resolving operational tasks.
