About blueAPACHE: blueAPACHE is a premier, internationally recognized Australian managed service provider (MSP), network infrastructure giant, and cloud security innovator operating on an absolute mission to protect, optimize, and scale the digital communication frameworks of leading mid-market businesses globally. Recognized for the seventh consecutive year as the Mid-Market Partner of the Year at the prestigious ARN Innovation Awards, blueAPACHE prides itself on building an elite, high-performance corporate culture driven entirely by uncompromised employee and customer experiences. From complex software-defined data pathways to multi-tenant security structures, blueAPACHE untangles volatile infrastructure bottlenecks for scaling commercial enterprises. Driven by an automation-first, technology-led workplace philosophy that values high personal agency, deep technical curiosity, and structured problem-solving, the organization provides high-agency network engineers with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage state-of-the-art AIOps, manipulate core carrier routing protocols, and deploy resilient SASE security structures safely across Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and infrastructure-minded Network Engineer to join our core centralized Technology Operations division in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified technical escalation specialists resident within Sri Lanka or the Philippines. Operating as a critical tier-3 technical escalation anchor across our global client infrastructure deployments, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability for troubleshooting, resolving, and certifying the stability of complex network, security, and wireless environments. Shifting completely away from routine passive support ticket logging, minor visual web-form modifications, basic administrative data entry typing, or simple back-office patch tracking loops, you will run an active network engineering and system resilience laboratory—partnering face-to-face with Senior Engineers, distributed project cells, technology vendors, and client-side C-suite technical leaders. This position requires an enterprise infrastructure or telecom domain veteran with 5+ years of craft depth who architectures automated configuration provisioning fluidly natively using DevOps principles, builds custom network tools smoothly natively leveraging Python or PowerShell scripting runtimes, and commands advanced Fortinet Security Fabric arrays confidently under strict service level commitments and high-pressure major incident windows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Tier-3 Technical Escalation Triage: Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex multi-tenant network, wireless, security, and WAN incidents, driving rapid service restoration cleanly natively utilizing DevOps optimization methods.
  • Meticulous Root Cause and Problem Governance: Lead exhaustive forensic investigations, risk assessments, and programmatic root cause analysis (RCA) loops to mitigate repeat system errors and eliminate operational toil.
  • High-Risk Infrastructure Change Management: Schedule, coordinate, and execute complex core network updates, platform-wide migrations, system-level security hardening, and scheduled maintenance blocks across customer environments.
  • Fortinet Security Fabric Engineering: Design, maintain, and optimize unified boundary defenses, configuring custom firewall profiles, secure access service edge (SASE) solutions, and high-concurrency SD-WAN configurations.
  • Carrier-Grade Core Protocol Routing: Oversee wide area network (WAN) and carrier networking layouts, tuning high-performance dynamic routing channels natively using BGP, OSPF, and MPLS mechanisms.
  • Automated Tooling and AIOps Implementation: Program, refine, and maintain runtime automation macros and API-driven telemetry extractions smoothly natively using Python or PowerShell, contributing directly to AIOps continuous improvement tracks.
  • L2 Engineering Cohort Mentorship: Foster a security-first engineering culture by providing technical direction, creating standard runbooks, documenting SOPs, and coaching Level 2 associate engineers.
  • On-Call and After-Hours Incident Response: Participate in a structured, rotating on-call engineering roster and after-hours maintenance windows to support high-priority major incident responses globally.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of verified professional history running advanced network engineering, tier-3 infrastructure troubleshooting, telecommunications data path design, enterprise security architecture development, or technology systems consulting.
  • Mandatory Sourcing Operational Background: Documented career history managing major production incidents and technical escalations within a large enterprise network, telecom provider, or managed service provider (MSP) environment.
  • Expert-tier capability automating terminal environments, deploying code-driven configurations, and managing hybrid cloud routing nodes natively utilizing DevOps frameworks.
  • Practical operational familiarity organizing conditional monitoring logic, parsing API variables, and writing execution scripts natively using Python, PowerShell, or Bash runtimes.
  • Authoritative hands-on mastery of enterprise networking internals, highlighting deep experience with Fortinet systems, routing/switching foundations, enterprise wireless arrays, and Zero Trust security architectures.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and scannable technical documentation communication attributes in business-fluent English, ensuring absolute confidence when providing technical advisory to cross-border stakeholder blocks.
  • Employment Verification Prerequisite: All formal employment offers at blueAPACHE remain strictly contingent upon the successful completion of a National Police Checking Service audit.
  • Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified network engineers based permanently and resident within the borders of Sri Lanka or the Philippines to operate under a 100% remote work-from-home layout.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Possession of active, verified industry credentials such as Fortinet FCP/FCSS, Cisco CCNP Routing & Switching, Aruba Certified Professional, or Palo Alto networks spaces.
  • Direct technical familiarity managing hybrid cloud connectivity maps, specifically deploying Azure networking gateways or virtual security appliances.
  • Familiarity with standard ITIL service management practices, including structured incident, change, and problem management frameworks.

What We Offer

  • Vetted, AUD-Linked Global Remuneration Blueprint: A highly competitive full-time baseline corporate salary package structured transparently and paid in **Australian Dollars (AUD)** to provide uncompromised protection against local economic changes, supplemented by company-sponsored certification opportunities.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to claim absolute execution ownership over the tier-3 infrastructure nodes protecting mid-market cloud solutions for an award-winning MSP.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% remote virtual environment, complete task-management trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction out of any state or province.
  • Immediate delivery of high-quality corporate computer technology and laptop hardware kits straight to your home office workspace with zero onboarding friction.
  • Access to elite personal and professional upskilling advantages, featuring structured social engagement calendars, a collaborative peer network of recognized industry experts, and a dedicated employee referral reward system.
