Mobile Platform Developer

About the Role: Tailscale is building the new Internet by making it easy to securely interconnect people and their devices. We are seeking a talented full-time Software Engineer to focus on our mobile platforms (iOS and Android) while contributing to common code that supports macOS, Windows, and other core client platforms.

What You'll Do

• Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to client code (Swift, Kotlin, Go) and backend services.
• Provide support for the latest Apple and Android platform features while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, and handle cross-target code sharing.
• Collaborate with highly technical teams in a fully remote and asynchronous environment.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong understanding of mobile platform principles, capabilities, and limitations.
• Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and/or Kotlin (Prior Go expertise is a plus but not required).
• Familiarity with mobile VPN infrastructure and general networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, IP Networking, routing).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Target base salary range: $181,000 - $226,000 USD per year.
