Machine Learning Research Engineer

About the Role: Roboflow is building the tools, community, and resources needed to make the world programmable with artificial intelligence. As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, you will develop novel machine learning methods and contribute to the research agenda of the team, focusing on computer vision solutions that generalize well across a diverse user base.

What You'll Do

• Identify areas for innovation, create novel computer vision approaches, and write papers aimed at top conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, etc.).
• Develop methods that learn well on diverse data, run efficiently on different hardware targets, and solve unique user problems.
• Translate research methods into production systems running at scale.
• Optimize models for edge hardware and train models on distributed infrastructure.

What You Bring

• Masters / PhD in AI, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or equivalent industry experience.
• History of publication at top conferences or journals.
• Proficiency in Python and expertise in PyTorch.
• A pragmatic approach to utility in practice, valuing scientific rigour, reproducibility, and high-quality software.

Benefits

• Base salary range of $168,000 - $255,000 plus equity.
• $4000/yr Travel Stipend, $350/mo Productivity stipend, and $350/mo AI Stipend.
