Machine Learning Manager

About the Role: tem is rearchitecting the global energy market with an AI-native transaction infrastructure. We are looking for a Machine Learning Manager to lead the people side of tem's most technically complex team. You will focus entirely on the growth, performance, and operating systems of ML engineers building Rosso, our AI-powered pricing and forecasting engine.

What You'll Do

• Build a high-performing ML team by leading hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Own the team's operating systems, including sprint cadences, incident reviews, and model monitoring feedback loops.
• Act as a sounding board for ML engineers on questions and blockers without positioning yourself as the sole technical authority.
• Partner closely with the Rosso Engineering Manager to align priorities between ML and software engineering teams.
• Champion tem's culture and represent the team in the broader organization and the external ML community.

What You Bring

• Proven experience managing ML engineers or scientists (Junior to Staff) with a credible understanding of the ML lifecycle (forecasting, optimization, pricing, classical ML).
• Strong track record in people development, 1:1s, performance conversations, and coaching.
• Experience building and owning team operating systems and prioritisation frameworks.
• A strong hiring instinct for ML roles in a competitive market.
• Bonus: Background in energy or fintech, and experience building career frameworks from scratch.

• Base Salary: £105,000 – £120,000 per year plus Stock Options.
