Today, 67% of students and 82% of low-income students can’t read at grade level by the end of third grade. This is when students transition from learning to read to reading to learn, marking America’s number one education crisis. Ignite Reading addresses this by delivering one-to-one virtual tutoring focused on foundational reading skills—phonics, phonemic awareness, and sight words—to help students become confident, fluent readers.

Ignite Reading’s program achieves over 2 weeks of reading skills growth per week of instruction, with all students—including those with IEPs, multilingual learners, students of color, and those receiving free or reduced-price lunch—achieving outstanding results.

Ignite Reading is a mission-driven public benefit corporation dedicated to solving one of the nation’s biggest educational challenges while fostering a diverse team. They actively seek candidates with lived experience related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Your Role

The Literacy Success Partner supports the implementation of Ignite Reading’s program with a portfolio of partners—districts and schools new to the model or expanding their engagement. This role focuses on renewals and in-year expansions, growing partnerships by connecting student impact to partner goals. Ideal candidates are instructional leaders with strong relationship-building skills and a proven track record in district partnerships, account growth, and scaling programs.

Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for district and school leaders, monitoring student progress, leading renewal and expansion conversations, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure high-quality experiences for both students and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Onboarding

  • Lead district and school onboarding, including project planning, onboarding meetings, and sharing best practices.
  • Develop and manage synchronous and asynchronous onboarding content, such as virtual small group meetings, webinars, and Knowledge Base content.
  • Collaborate with Ignite Reading’s Partnerships, Academics, and Customer Experience teams to ensure a streamlined customer experience and smooth project transitions.
  • Track and adhere to KPIs, including first-day attendance and on-time launch.
  • Ensure complete and accurate data entry and maintenance within Ignite Reading’s systems.
  • Serve as the Voice of the Customer by providing internal feedback for product improvement.
  • Mitigate risks by identifying implementation issues early and leading resolution efforts prior to launch.

Partner Support & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of school and district partners.
  • Build strong relationships with instructional leaders and key contacts, providing responsive, high-quality support.
  • Lead impact meetings and check-ins to ensure alignment to goals and successful implementation of the Ignite Reading model.
  • Use AI systems to automate routine attendance communications, generate partner action tracking reminders, and create personalized follow-up messages based on engagement data.

Renewals & In-Year Expansions

  • Own the renewal process for your partner portfolio, from early readiness conversations through signed agreements, to retain partners and seats year over year.
  • Use student progress, attendance, and implementation data to show impact and build the case for renewal well ahead of contract end dates.
  • Identify and close in-year expansion opportunities with existing partners, such as adding students, grades, or schools during the school year.
  • Spot renewal risks early, such as leadership changes, funding shifts, or low engagement, and lead mitigation plans in partnership with your manager.
  • Partner with the Partnerships team on renewals and expansions where ownership is shared or Partnerships leads.
  • Maintain accurate renewal and expansion pipeline data in HubSpot, including deal stage, seat counts, and close dates.
  • Track and meet renewal and expansion KPIs, including renewal rate and expansion seats.

Student Impact & Progress Monitoring

  • Use student data dashboards to monitor progress and surface insights for the portfolio of partners.
  • Collaborate with Academic and Tutor Operations teams to address instructional concerns or opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage AI-assisted analytics to identify trends in survey responses, analyze partner feedback themes, and highlight patterns in student progress data.
  • Identify trends and support strategic interventions that align with student outcomes.
  • Analyze student data to identify overarching trends, gaps in instruction, and opportunities to strengthen literacy ecosystems.
  • Recommend targeted resources and instructional strategies for partners to implement within schools.
  • Tailor data reviews and consultative meetings to align with specific stakeholder priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Product, Data, and Academics teams to troubleshoot issues and provide feedback from the field.
  • Help document and share implementation best practices and success stories.
  • Support the creation of resources and partner-facing tools that scale support across the portfolio.
  • Utilize AI communication tools to streamline broader client communications and maintain consistent partner engagement.

Professional Growth & Career Pathway

  • Participate in internal learning experiences to deepen understanding of district strategy, instructional impact, and data fluency.
  • Partner closely with Customer Experience and Partnerships teams to support accounts transitioning between tiers.
  • Position yourself for potential advancement into Strategic-level roles by building instructional and partnership expertise.

Core Competencies

  • Instructional Mindset: Applies foundational literacy knowledge and understands the Science of Reading.
  • Relationship-Builder: Establishes rapport and trust with school-based partners.
  • Account Growth: Connects student impact to partner goals to drive renewals and uncover expansion opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Consulting: Analyzes student data to uncover instructional trends and gaps, recommends targeted resources, and tailors data reviews to align with diverse stakeholder priorities.
  • AI Literacy: Comfortable using AI tools to automate communications, analyze feedback, and identify data trends.
  • Service-Oriented: Provides excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Growth-Ready: Eager to learn, grow, and develop new skills in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in literacy instruction, coaching, or school-based support roles.
  • Familiarity with foundational literacy skills and instructional best practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; comfort using Google Workspace and Zoom.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with strong follow-through.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and communities.
  • Experience in account management, renewals, or growing existing customer relationships preferred.
  • Experience using a CRM (e.g., HubSpot) is a plus.
