At UpGuard, we are replacing manual security bottlenecks with AI-driven precision. Fresh off a US$75M Series C, we are scaling our infrastructure to process 100 billion risk signals daily. This isn’t just growth; it’s a total reimagining of how the world manages cyber risk.

We build the Cyber Risk Posture Management (CRPM) platform that security teams actually love. By integrating security ratings, threat intel, and agentic AI, we empower organizations to stay ahead of an ever-evolving attack surface.

We aren’t just building another tool; we’re defining a category. We provide the autonomy to ship world-class technology and the resources to do it at a global scale.

Where does this role fit in?

As Lead Product Manager, you’ll own the strategy, the long-range plan, and the investment case for a portfolio of product areas spanning multiple squads, and manage an autonomous and high-performing team of Senior Product Managers responsible for individual squad roadmaps. You’ll also have the opportunity to stay ‘on the tools,’ with responsibility for your own squad of engineers and designers.

This is a new role for UpGuard, and represents our high-velocity growth. We have always operated as a tight-knit team in a high-autonomy environment. Now we want to ensure that we have leadership in place ahead of our next milestone.

A Senior Product Manager is accountable for the outcomes of one area. You are accountable for the portfolio and for the strength of the team. Your value is measured by their output as well as your own.

What will you do?

Set strategic direction across multiple product areas

  • Own product strategy and outcomes across a portfolio spanning multiple squads, accountable for customer, business, and execution results.
  • Nurture the Senior Product Managers and, in collaboration with our Product Operations team and other Lead Product Managers, maintain consistency in process across all squads.
  • Resolve the trade-offs and dependencies between squads that no single squad can tackle alone.
  • Build the product narrative for your squads, with oversight of revenue, engagement, retention, and risk.
  • Partner with CPO/VP Product on strategic product decisions.

Responsible for long-term planning, investment, and budget

  • Own the vision for a rolling quarterly plan against a two-to-three year product vision, and keep both current as the market moves.
  • Empower Senior Product Managers as decision-makers for the investments in their product areas.
  • Prioritize across competing areas and ensure products within your remit are well-balanced to succeed.
  • Continuously improve on how we discover, prioritize, and deliver product across UpGuard.

Lead and grow product managers and managers

  • Manage, coach, and develop product management staff across your areas, including Senior Product Managers and people managers.
  • Set a high bar for rigor, accountability, and craft while investing in each person's growth.
  • Hire, onboard, and level product managers as UpGuard scales.
  • Set the standard for how product management is practiced here.

Drive commercial and customer outcomes

  • Connect product strategy to retention, expansion, win rate, and addressable market.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Customer Success on positioning, packaging, pricing input, launches, and enablement across the portfolio.
  • Represent UpGuard's product direction with customers, prospects, and analysts.

What will you bring?

  • 7-10 years of B2B SaaS product management experience, including 3+ years directly managing product teams.
  • A track record of owning strategy across more than one product area and turning it into measurable outcomes.
  • Experience defining, driving, and advocating for complex product initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and designers to create experiences that customers rave about.

What will give you an edge?

  • Experience or qualifications in security, GRC, or compliance.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and solutions.
  • Experience building a high-performing product management function in a scaling company.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, or data-driven product development.
  • A track record of identifying and seizing commercial opportunities within product strategies.

What's in it for you?

  • Monthly Lifestyle subsidy: Use this for financial, physical, and mental well-being.
  • WFH set-up allowance: To ensure you have the right environment to work in, we will help you get set up within your first 3 months at UpGuard.
  • $1500 USD annual Learning & Development allowance: To support your career development, all team members will be able to expense development opportunities against this allowance.
  • Annual leave: PTO plus two additional UpGuardian leave days to give you time to recharge your batteries.
  • 18 weeks paid Parental Leave: Irrespective of parenting role.
  • Personal Leave Allowance: This includes sick & carer’s leave.
  • Fully remote working environment: While we have physical offices in Sydney & Hobart, we do not mandate compulsory attendance.
  • Top-spec hardware: All team members will be provided with top-spec laptops for their role.
  • Generative AI subsidy: UpGuard provides paid subscriptions for all team members to access generative AI tools to support their work.
