We have joined forces with industry giants Capterra, SoftwareAdvice, and GetApp to build the definitive data foundation for software buyers and sellers in the age of artificial intelligence. Attracting more than 200 million cumulative annual visitors and hosting over 6 million verified reviews, G2 powers critical purchasing decisions and software intelligence globally. Guided by our PEAK values—Performance, Entrepreneurship, Authenticity, and Kindness—we are scaling a hyper-growth marketplace where data integrity and transparent insights guide modern software commerce.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly autonomous, systems-fluent, and analytical Lead Data Analyst (00008) to drive our descriptive and diagnostic intelligence pipelines under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across the United States. Operating within our Revenue Operations and Global Data division, you will act as the principal subject matter expert (SME) over platform business metrics, marketplace telemetry, and self-serve visualization frameworks. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated administrative transcription queues, manual content management, or basic report generation, you will run an active high-volume query tuning, relational reporting layer development, and product A/B testing laboratory. Partnering directly next to cross-functional engineering cells, revenue directors, and product teams, you will translate abstract business challenges into actionable analytical insights. This position requires an engineering-minded analysis veteran with 4+ years of professional experience who handles large relational datasets fluidly natively using Data Analyst, SQL, and Business Intelligence primitives, designs scalable data schemas, and mentors junior team members cleanly.
Key Responsibilities
- Descriptive & Diagnostic Governance: Architect, implement, and optimize statistical data tracking systems to inform high-stakes product decision-making, evaluate performance, and deliver tactical recommendations natively utilizing Data Analyst structures.
- Self-Serve Reporting Framework Instrumentation: Build, calibrate, and scale interactive enterprise dashboards and visual graphs natively deploying Business Intelligence tooling to empower end users with timelier metric tracking.
- Relational Reporting Layer Control: Design and optimize modular database reporting layers, constructing resilient database schemas that align with long-term corporate product strategies.
- High-Performance Database Query Tuning: Write, profile, and audit highly complex data queries natively using SQL and Postgres environments, eliminating bugs and executing rigorous query performance tuning.
- Statistical Experimentation Modeling: Develop programmatic scripts to run precise A/B testing validation matrices and advanced product behavioral analytics natively leveraging Python or R workflows.
- Cross-Functional Technical Synthesis: Act as G2’s central Data SME, consulting beside technical and non-technical stakeholders to formulate data-supported solutions for complex marketplace problems.
- Junior Analytical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, run script reviews, and coach junior data analysts to level up understanding of complex datasets, operational data models, and business strategy targets.
- Data Engineering System Discovery: Proactively audit analytical reporting pipelines, identify scalability defects, and optimize underlying reporting layouts to improve global data management patterns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Possess a formal Bachelor’s degree (or verified foreign equivalent) in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a matching quantitative technical field.
- A minimum of 4+ years of proven, successful professional experience operating as a Senior Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Insight Scientist, Reporting Lead, or closely matching tech-driven analytics capacity.
- Expert SQL and Database Command: At least 4+ years of hands-on production experience writing, refactoring, and quality-assuring complex transactional queries natively using SQL databases (with specific database intimacy regarding Postgres).
- Meticulous background architecting self-serve analytical reporting ecosystems and managing metrics dashboards using prominent Business Intelligence platforms.
- Proven, hands-on tracking history applying programming models natively within Python or R to solve real-world corporate business problems, track product conversion indicators, and evaluate multi-variant A/B tests.
- Outstanding written and verbal presentation communication strengths in English, with an established background collaborating with distributed cross-functional engineering and commercial squads.
- Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified enterprise data analysis authorities residing permanently within the United States.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior platform or enterprise background analyzing multi-tenant marketplace mechanics explicitly inside the B2B software sectors, e-commerce networks, or digital content aggregation fields.
- Direct operational familiarity manipulating model monitoring layers, automated data engineering streams, or cloud-native data pipelines.
- An adaptable, entrepreneurially minded persona characterized by deep intellectual curiosity, a passion for high performance, and a clear dedication to climbing new organizational peaks together.
What We Offer
- Top-Tier United States Corporate Data Leadership Remuneration: A highly competitive annual target base salary scale of $119,558 — $134,750 USD calibrated precisely to your individual systems pedigree and analytical velocity, backed by prominent global marketplace assets.
- 100% remote workspace infrastructure freedom anywhere within the United States, granting you absolute calendar ownership over a flexible work layout.
- Macro Scale Software Marketplace Influence: Elite professional landmarks built by single-handedly blueprinting the metrics tracking systems, dashboard components, and data insights guiding buying paths for millions of users.
- Comprehensive physical preservation benefits, including flexible work frameworks, ample paid parental leave networks, and an unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) policy to rest and recharge.
- Access to an outstanding global tech community featuring flat corporate paths, people-led Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), philanthropic matching via G2 Gives, and a highly scannable career development model built to guide you to your PEAK.
