Junior AI Engineer (Client)

About the Role: At Supernal, we help SMBs hire their first AI employee. We are looking for a Junior AI Engineer (Client) / Software Engineer to build and ship production software that powers customer-facing AI workflows and the internal platform that supports them.

What You'll Do

• Design and build backend and platform features including APIs, services, integrations, and data flows.
• Own scoped projects end-to-end: requirements clarification, implementation, testing, rollout, and follow-through.
• Write automated tests (unit and integration) as a core part of shipping features.
• Debug production issues using logs, metrics, and traces, and add safeguards to prevent recurrence.
• Improve reliability and maintainability through refactors, performance improvements, and better observability.

What You Bring

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a software engineer shipping production systems.
• Experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs in a production codebase.
• Comfortable with integrations: third-party APIs, webhooks, auth patterns (OAuth/API keys), and data modeling.
• Strong fundamentals in clean architecture, separation of concerns, and pragmatic tradeoffs.
• Provide your own laptop with reliable internet and be willing to work primarily in Americas time zones.
