About GovWorx: GovWorx is a premier, internationally recognized public sector technology powerhouse, enterprise AI software pioneer, and mission-critical public safety trailblazer operating on an absolute mission to protect, automate, and revolutionize how emergency communication networks operate across the country. Through its state-of-the-art, AI-powered platform CommsCoach, GovWorx addresses the public safety sector’s greatest modern challenge—the critical loss of institutional field experience—by automating quality assurance tracking, optimizing real-time training evaluation loops, and delivering actionable data insights directly to 9-1-1 and emergency dispatch centers. Driven by a security-first, high-performance corporate philosophy centered around uncompromised data integrity, absolute individual accountability, and technical craft depth, the organization equips high-agency engineering leaders with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage cutting-edge defense structures, manipulate enterprise directories, and deploy robust, compliance-hardened IT architectures safely across the United States.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and systems-minded IT & Security Engineer to join our core centralized G&A Infrastructure and Technology division in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified cybersecurity authorities resident anywhere in the United States. Operating as a senior individual contributor and primary strategic architect across our identity, endpoint, and security operations layers, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability for hardening GovWorx’s global technology environment. Shifting completely away from traditional passive support ticketing, basic hardware setup loops, minor manual configuration adjustments, or simple administrative backup typing, you will run an active security engineering and defensive operations laboratory—collaborating directly beside our Head of IT & Security to safeguard data streams that public safety agencies rely on every single day. This position requires a regulated-market or public-sector software veteran with 5+ years of craft depth who maps out comprehensive directory protection schemes fluidly natively using Cybersecurity principles, programs automated system scripts smoothly natively using Python or Bash, and commands advanced Okta, Jamf Pro, and Microsoft Intune environments confidently under multi-state statutory and federal background check mandates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Lifecycle Security Architecture: Design, document, and execute enterprise-wide IT and security engineering initiatives, mapping out system baselines cleanly natively utilizing Cybersecurity guidelines.
  • Automated Security Scripting: Build, test, and implement automated provisioning workflows, api-driven integrations, and administrative maintenance tasks smoothly natively leveraging Python or Bash scripts to optimize platform throughput.
  • End-to-End IAM Governance: Supervise and optimize the complete identity lifecycle using Okta as our core platform, maintaining granular RBAC/ABAC permissions matrices, conditional access rules, SSO, MFA, and SCIM profiles.
  • Zero Trust Endpoint Management: Function as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) managing Jamf Pro (macOS) and Microsoft Intune (Windows) engines to enforce encryption, patching schedules, and secure configuration profiles.
  • EDR and Telemetry Pipeline Tuning: Configure and optimize endpoint detection and response (EDR) agents and centralized SIEM logging pipelines to establish high-signal, low-noise monitoring capabilities.
  • Incident Response and Forensics: Lead technical investigations during active security events, managing evidence collection, forensic log parsing, containment protocols, and multi-disciplinary remediation documentation.
  • Compliance Control Auditing: Gather, organize, and validate audit evidence to support rigorous government and corporate compliance frameworks (including SOC 2, NIST, and ISO 27001 structures).
  • Secrets and Lifecycle Lifecycle Management: Oversee the provisioning, decommissioning, and automated rotation schedules for service accounts, API tokens, OAuth keys, and cryptographic certificates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of verified professional history running advanced security engineering, enterprise IT infrastructure management, systems administration, or technology risk consulting.
  • Regulated Market Clearance Requirement: Candidates must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check across multiple states to interact securely with public safety data networks.
  • Expert-tier capability mapping complex identity maps, tracking privilege boundaries, and building defense-in-depth frameworks natively utilizing Cybersecurity methodologies.
  • Practical operational familiarity writing scripts, parsing strings, and structuring clean configuration objects natively using Python or Bash architectures.
  • Authoritative hands-on mastery of Okta identity suites alongside enterprise-tier deployment experience inside Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and scannable technical documentation communication attributes in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised confidence when detailing risk metrics before non-technical stakeholder boards.
  • Location Context: Position open to qualified security infrastructure experts based permanently and resident within the borders of the United States to operate under a 100% remote work-from-home layout.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior commercial backend or security operations history operating explicitly inside public safety platforms, federal cloud spaces, fintech architectures, or healthcare technology frameworks.
  • Direct hands-on experience navigating cloud architecture layers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or deploying SaaS security posture management (SSPM) platforms.
  • An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in a security-first mentality, a passion for mentorship and technical leadership, and an intense dedication to building automated defenses that protect civil infrastructure.

What We Offer

  • Vetted Public-Safety Sector Salaried Blueprint: A highly competitive full-time baseline annual corporate salary structured transparently between $110,000 and $130,000 USD, calibrated precisely to evaluate your cybersecurity authority, script craftsmanship, and IAM infrastructure velocity.
  • Immediate eligibility to participate in a lucrative annual corporate performance bonus track, paired with full premium health benefits layers.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% remote layout across America, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction out of any state.
  • Access to progressive lifestyle and wellness tracks, including a highly generous Flexible Time Off structure allowing uncompromised schedule customization without losing hourly totals.
  • The ultimate professional canvas to claim absolute infrastructure code authorship over an enterprise AI platform modernizing first responder operations globally.
