Inside Sales Specialist (Japan)

Reporting to the Director of Sales Japan, the Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for working with sales, marketing, and portfolio leaders for lead generation, development, management, and technical assistance in an overall role focused on driving growth. The main duties include creatively developing and converting opportunities into orders while partnering with Sales Account Managers, portfolio directors, and marketing to maximize efforts in growing the company’s business.

This position involves working with scientists from top-level academic institutions, biotechnology, and pharma companies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job performance includes:

• Creating targeted campaigns to develop and close new opportunities in existing and new accounts.
• Collaborating with marketing, global portfolio directors, and global Inside Sales Specialists to create and drive product promotions, evaluating effectiveness through detailed measurements.
• Partnering with field sales, distributors, and dealers to develop joint plans and strategies targeting specific application areas that generate new leads, helping the team meet or exceed targets.
• Assisting customers with Clonal genes, Gene fragments, Oligo pools, MGF’s, Gene pools, IgG’s using online tools and knowledge, generating and assisting in closing quotes.
• Maintaining a CRM database with updates to sales opportunities, sales stages, marketing statuses, and customer intelligence data.
• Serving as the initial point of contact for pre-sales customer inquiries.
• Managing the sales process for specific products, accounts, and sales opportunities via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Assisting marketing in attending and managing trade show leads and their qualifications.
• Prospecting outbound leads and routing qualified opportunities to appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
• Focusing on strategic opportunities to drive business in the long- and short-term, including retargeting and dormant accounts.
• Answering incoming calls, placing outbound calls, and responding to emails in a timely manner.
• Providing technical assistance to customers, distributors, and dealers to drive understanding and adoption of Twist technology.
• Attending customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and presenting at events where technical insight is required.
• Closing sales and achieving quarterly regional targets.

Experience and Key Skills:

• Genetics or Molecular Biology backgrounds.
• Infectious “get it done” attitude with a strong desire to WIN.
• Excels in a fast-paced, ambitious, and changing landscape.
• Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM.
• Inside Sales Experience.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to drive orders.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S) in a life science field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in inside sales or commercial sales experience in a life science company.
