Key Responsibilities
The Inside Sales Representative is expected to own assigned sales support activity from request through to completion. This includes confirming the requirement, obtaining vendor or distributor inputs, preparing the quote, updating HubSpot, following up next steps and escalating early where support or approval is required.
- Prepare accurate and timely customer quotes for hardware, licensing and professional services.
- Work with Client Managers on transactional sales activity from initial request through to quote acceptance, order processing, customer updates and handover to delivery, finance or operations.
- Confirm pricing, availability, lead times, deal registration requirements and commercial conditions with vendors and distributors.
- Ensure quotes are clear, complete, commercially sound and aligned with customer requirements and Generation-e standards.
- Identify simple add-on, renewal and cross-sell opportunities from customer requests, quote activity, vendor promotions and buying history, and coordinate follow-up with the relevant Client Manager.
- Liaise with subject matter experts to support complex quotes and approved orders.
- Follow up open quotes, customer enquiries, renewals and agreed next steps in a timely and disciplined way, keeping the relevant Client Manager informed of progress, blockers and required actions.
- Maintain a practical understanding of vendor programs, promotions, ordering requirements and product information.
- Share relevant customer feedback, competitor pricing, vendor changes and market observations with the Client Manager and Chief Revenue Officer.
- Escalate pricing, supply, commercial or customer issues to the relevant Client Manager or Chief Revenue Officer where required.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally, promptly and with clear next steps.
- Support tender and RFP responses by gathering product, pricing, vendor and solution information as requested.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, quote, activity and customer information in the CRM.
- Use Generation-eβs business systems accurately and consistently, including HubSpot, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, D-Tools, vendor portals and distributor portals.
Skills, Capabilities and Working Style
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate commercial information.
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with customers, vendors, distributors and internal teams.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in technology sales.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines and priorities without losing accuracy.
- Ownership of assigned requests, with strong follow-through until actions are complete.
- Ability to learn products, services, vendor programs and business systems quickly.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced sales environment where priorities can change quickly.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- 1β2 yearsβ experience in inside sales, sales support, customer service, technology, distribution, procurement, or a related commercial role.
- Experience in technology and Microsoft solutions is desirable but not essential.
- Experience using CRM, quoting, accounting, vendor, or distributor systems is desirable.
- Formal qualifications are not essential. A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable, but practical capability, customer focus, accuracy, commercial discipline and willingness to learn are more important.
