The Inpatient Education and Quality Manager is responsible for implementing organizational education, training, and quality management initiatives, as well as continued content development for the UASI Academy. This role will establish and implement yearly organizational education plans and lead the QM team efforts to ensure internal auditing, training, and mentoring activities are performed and supported.
Responsibilities include:
Project Management/Operational Efficiency
- Manage schedule of QM team quality management activities and education utilizing UASI organizational tool to ensure optimal resource management.
- Monitor and manage key metrics for the QM team, including productivity and staff utilization.
- Oversee and ensure continued growth of UASI organizational initiatives including Upskilling and HOP to HIP to achieve expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify training needs and design programs to meet those needs.
- Develop and implement annual education plan including HIPAA Annual Compliance Training, quarterly Coding Clinic updates, annual ICD10 and specific monthly CEU opportunities for staff.
Technical Coding/Auditing Expertise
- Utilize coding expertise to perform quality reviews on QM auditors and other internal staff as requested.
- Ongoing assessment of the organizational audit tool for analyzing and tracking quality to ensure optimal reporting.
- Work collaboratively with the Client Success Managers and Staff Success Managers across the organization to oversee and/or perform audits on UASI coders and auditors.
- Perform necessary feedback and research to UASI coders and auditors in response to coding and CDI questions.
Education & Mentoring
- Oversee and/or provide education to coders and auditors as needed based on internal audit findings including identification of trends to improve coder and auditor quality.
- Utilize UASI Learning Management System for education content development and delivery.
Business Development
- Use expertise to partner with the Sales/Account Management team for business development opportunities related to UASI’s Learning Management System or client education needs.
- Leverage professional network and demonstrate expertise through market-facing activities including professional organizations, speaking, or serving as a UASI Ambassador.
